Point blank motor

1 Attachment(s)
Hi I recently got in a tamiya bear hawk that had this point blank motor in it. Has anyone ever heard of them or know what turn it might be? Thanks!

We used to get their stuff at our LHS a while back. Not bad stuff especially considering the price. What you have there is an older style stock motor (tabbed can and stand up brushes). I'm not sure which one it is though.

Thats a 27T stock motor called the Green Machine. Early 90's

If I remember correctly, Point Blank was just part of Trinity. Not a different company that relabeled Trinity teardowns, it was actually Trinity themselves.

You're correct. Seemed to me the Point Blank series came out at the time Trinity had driver's names attached to just about every product they sold. The Point Blank product line had no sponsored drivers affiliated with it. I believe that's what made it a less expensive product.

Thanks! I knew this forum knows their motors better than anyone haha. It does act like a 27 turn, has alot of torque etc. You are right trinity loved attaching pros to their motors (buggywald etc) Early 90's would make sense also since the bearhawk came out in 1991 or so. So I guess this motor is pretty similar to a old slot machine etc...I may as well leave it in there and run it till it pukes.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken...the POINT BLANK LINE was the signature line for former WORLD CHAMPION Tony Neisinger back when TRINITY had the MAGIC line for Joel Johnson.

....if the story I heard was correct, when Tony failed to YEILD to Joel at a WORLDS event, Tony lost that ride and that deal...because the Magic Johnson line had MORE product recognition. (unconfirmed RUMOR - LOL)

Those were some great years of On-Road racing!
