you don't use alloy cvds for weight saving matters ...
#1173
I think it's all point of view. Less rotational weight equals quicker acceleration and deceleration. Plus it's aluminum, so it'll flex and absorb shocks more than the steel ones. That's why they twist.
So in one point of view (his I think), you don't use them to save weight (6.8g total) to make the car lighter. But you can use them to save weight from rotational weight.
How's it's going Martin? Any links to the ETS?

I just use the alloy dogbones as they are blue and take out some shocks and thus smoothen up the ride
just feels a little nicer and looks better
that's about it
I'm just sitting in the hotel room reading what's new on redrc
the race isn'T too bad
traction roll used to be an issue but I solved that.
tomorrow will decide if wether me or alex will take TQ

Martin How did you solve that. I had the same problem using your rubber carpet track (Horsham, PA). Car was great except for the occasional roll. It kept me form being higher qualified in the A Main.
#1178
Nice, did you widen the car with wheel shims? That should help some. Or raise your roll centers. Put some shims under your suspension arms. Good job Martin! Have you tried that Orcan body yet? That A5 looks running around there looks sweet! I see Protoform is coming out with one. At least now he can't accuse everyone of copying him. hehe. Good luck out there Martin, and post up your setup when you are done. I could use a good carpet setup.

on carpet I always use 0.5mm rollcenter shims, and higher rollcenter traction rolls just as much as that. actually 0mm rollcenter rolls less with regular tires
I doubt this setup will work anywhere else as the carpet is super strange and the Xenon tires are HUGE
if traction roll occures very minor you can just drive smoother and/or put some more shims under the front inner camberlink ballstud

Sorex SJR and Jaco tires are huge as well. So it might work out. You never know, I race on all kinds of different carpet.

Good run Martin. Maybe next time you won't race on an empty stomach..

i saw martin car less corner angle if compare with stocker's car....stocker's car can take tighter corner....
i just saw from the video...i might b wrong though....
i saw ronald r running the TC5 shock cap...i guess it's to eliminate the the air trap inside the bladder??

actually my car had more steering thatn alex'S but I overdid it with the CA when glueing up the tier edge to counter traction roll
wasn'T an issues as there was super muchs teering untill the chassi started to rub on the carpet ... then the ca was too muchbut it didn't wear off as I thought and thus my car started to push slightly
xenon tires are much much much bigger than any sorex tire

here's the ets setup
I really doubt it will work anywhere else or with any different tire but anyway
ronald used that setup aswell for the 2nd and 3rd main ..
as I built his car for those 2 and he thanked me afterwards as these where the only 2 runs where the car was really good
