What is everyone doing to make weight and balance out their chassis when running lipo. In US I think our weight min is 1420 grams. I am having troubles finding places for weights

as for Lipo balance

I place 70g under the battery in the battery slots

to do so I just take 2.4mm lead plates, cut them to battery slot shape and glue them to the lipo with CA

this way the car is in perfect balance and you get a weight around 1350

What battery are you using? If it has a flat bottom like a ThunderPower, I just push the battery to the edge of chassis and tape weight to the rear outside of the pack to offset the motor hanging on the opposite side. Also, Lipos tend to be heavier on the opposite side of the battery terminals or wires. So I always put the connector side to the front. I'm using ORCA packs now and they have the dreaded humps. So I cannot push the battery to the edge of the chassis. But I'll probaby put weight between the battery slots in the rear along with the weight on the outside.

I have the Trinity(IB) 5000 40C Lipo. It fits nicely in the chassis since it has cell bumps. But as you stated, The left side of the car is heavy now since I have the Lipo on the right side. I didn't want to have any weight hanging off the right side if I could help it like the xrays do. I have some single cell weights that go in the slots but the car in general is still under the 1420g rule.

I measured balance with tips like those available from hudy

you want your car to be heavier up front not in the rear ...

this is why with 5cell, everybody runs the battery forward ...

pushing the weight further outward messes up the handling of the car quite a bit this is why I didn't put the lead to the side of the lipo but under the lipo to get the same weight distribution the car was originally designed for

for ETS races the weight limit is 1350 so I only have to add about 50g as the tires are super heavy

I use a GM 40C pack (#98989) which features cell bumps

I just filled up all the space left with lead but if you don't need all the weight make sure it's as far forward as possible
