Im using Xray Hudy Spring Steel Outdrives For Gear Diff. Works well so far.
No modification needed. Just plug and play.

To do this properly you need to be using 50mm Xray rear driveshafts, and Xray blades otherwise the standard driveshaft would wobble around a lot inside the outdrive. The ball end is much bigger on a xray driveshaft even though the blade diameter is the same.

I think no need to use Xray driveshaft. So far Im using Yokomo driveshaft with SpecR/Xray blades with no problems. But I haven't try using Xray driveshaft as you said. Will try it soon

Default Chassis comparison

Guys,

Has anyone run a WX (chassis with holes) and a W or WXi (solid chassis) side by side with the same setup?

I've been running both cars with almost the same setup, same tires, only difference is 800 oil in the solid chassis car and 1000 in the WX chassis. My observation is that on medium traction asphalt, the WX generates more rear traction and ends up scrubbing the front tires more with much more understeer than the W chassis during off and on power situations. My laptimes with the W chassis are consistently .3 - .6 seconds faster given the same conditions.

Anybody experience the same? Is the WX chassis more biased for rear traction?

TIA!

in my testing, i always felt wx is slower than w...even laptimes show that..maybee my driving suit alittle stiffer lowerdeck.

Ive had better results with the W than the WX. Over the weekend i used the W chassis at the Much More Masters and had a good result with it. Wont be using the WX for a while

hmmm. Maybe time to retire the WX chassis. Thanks for the responses guys - time to swap it out and do more setup testing… Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this experience because for awhile, I thought I was doing something wrong!

will order a Zeppin chassis and see how it compares against the W chassis

Thanks Fred

Just broke my WX during practice today. It broke due to a nail from the barrier sticking out from the ground and eventually catapulted my car backwards. I knew something might get broken and indeed the chassis broke between the cutout. I had the chassis for more than a year now and it is time to get a replacement lower chassis. However i stumbled with the decision of getting either a zeppin racing chassis or the W chassis.
I read through many feedbacks with the zeppin n the w lower chassis users here in this thread. So which better choice of lower chassis should i go with? Still cannot make up my mind
