Could someone or some people please help me with a list of spares and option/tuning parts for the BD5W.

I'm looking to place an order for one, but as i'm in the UK want to add some spares and as i'm new to Yokomo, some Tuning parts also.

What is exactly new on the BD5W that i will need extras of in case of breakage ?
And the suspension holders, what extra ones do i buy?
Shall i get some Driveshaft Bones for the front? Are those the 45.5mm ones? In case i bend one...
For the above, do i get the Standard (Steel) ones or the blue Alloy ones?
Do the C Hubs come in different degree's of Castor?

The main reason i'm asking all this is i could only download the 'old' BD5 Manual and that was mainly in Japanese, which unfortunately i can not understand...

Sorry for all the questions, hopefully once the car is here, i'll have the info in the manual

Cheers

u might need to get a plastic C-Hub (if your crash alot), Knuckles, front spool (roche or the new spool of Yokomo).

the rest is quite durable.... i never bent a Dog bone yet,,,,front is 45.5mm, rear is 44mm. BD5 C-Hub only 4degree....

Here are the spares/options i would get

Roche spool

BD-008FG - Lightweight Graphite Front Suspension arms

BD-008RG1 - Lightweight graphite rear suspension arms
(Damper mounting position 39.5mm)

BD-010TP - Joint / pin (pin φ2)

BD-189L - Rear Drive Belt (Rofurikushon)

BD-301RR1 - Rear block (Makes 3d toe). Get the 45.7 rear block if racing slower classes also (17.5 and down)

BD-412W - sway bar kit

BD-412H - Aluminum stabilizer (Swat bar holder) x2

BD-201R8 - 8mm sentre steering rack (Makes car more twitchy)

BD-413 - plastic c-hub

BD-415SG - Graphite steering block

BD-415RG - Graphite rear hubs

BD-500DP - Diff blades

BD-506 - Diff rings

BD-516L - Front belt

Also a spare thrust bearing which i cant find the part number for. $2 US

There are other spares that you can buy if you like having spares. An extra diff for example. etc etc....

There are other bling parts that make the car look pretty like mine. But they wont make you go any faster

Hope that helps,

Antoni

I forget to mention spurs. Get a couple spare. The xenon spurs work well.

Cheers all, big help.

1 more...

Do the Xenon 48DP Spur Gears fit fine ?

I've always run 48DP so have all the Pinions i need, would rather stay with those than having to buy all new pinions as well.

Thanks again.

Russ.

I'd say Antoni is pretty much on the money there - although I'd get some of the Team Bomber belts and keep the originals as spares. Also, the graphite front c-hubs are fragile so it's probably worth keeping a few sets as spares. I've never had any problems with the standard UJs, although I am looking to have some new lighter ones on the car for the weekend - I'll post some pics when I've got them.

Where are you going to be racing it? I'm doing all the STCC rounds this summer so if you're around come and find me and we can talk setups.

Well still no suitable answer to my question about the wheel hexs. Someone posted a part number, but these are not the original parts for a BD and no one stocks them as far as I have contacted.

As usual, there is no support for after you after you buy a Yokomo on here.

Go to the Xray, TOP, Tamiya threads and ask a question, and you are pounded by information.

BTW where is Martin of late, maybe a no show because his cars are so far removed from the average production cars that we spend our money on.
