Default TC3 gearing

I run a TC3 in VTA (rubber tires) with a 69 tooth spur and 31 tooth pinion.

It works for me on the carpet, but I am new at this game.

Brushless you want to gear high. Pinions in the high 40s to mid 60s depending on bushless system your running. Spur to mid 70s to mid 80s.

Brushed motors don't need to be geared quite as high as Bushless motors. pinions to mid 20s to mid 30s. And spurs from 60s to 70s.

And with the TC3/4 internal gear ratio of 2.5, you want a low final gear ratio, but without cooking your motor doing it. If you can get a temp gun try to keep the motor at 160F to 170F.

You want a 28 tooth pinion with the stock 72T spur for rubber tire with lipo or 6 cell on a medium size carpet track. The CO27 runs great on a 5000 lipo.

64 pitch 84/48 PRS Gears for 21.5 lipo. FDR of 4.38 for my TC3s, all 3. They come off at about 130ish and have plenty of punch in the infield.

I run a TC3 in RCGT. I have my FDR anywhere from 4 to 3.5.
For FDR of 4.0 you need 75T spur (64P) & 47T pinion.
For FDR of 3.75 you need 75T spur & 50T pinion.
For FDR of 3.5 you need 75T spur & 53T pinion.
I would try 4.0 first.
