MYSTERY PAN FRONT SUSPENSION

1 Attachment(s)
i got these on a 10th pan a while back off EBAY an estate sale and the guy was flabbergasted that the "toy cars" were selling for so much and not of a vast wealth of information on them
the upper arm looks very similar to a associated and the upper hingepin is associated
but it stops there mostly due to the fact that THE LOWER ARM IS HINGED
any info on what these are would be greatly appreciated

ya my camera (back when 4mp was pimping) sucks A$$ for pic quality well thats an understatement when you zoom in, but the lower arms are definitly unique and should be easily identified

theres a small hole in the forward part of the lower arm, possibly for a roll bar?
front axles are alum and moulded into the stteing knuckle

i had almost forgot about these when i was rooting through a box full of old pan car stuff, actually looking for something that would inspire me to make a suspension unit extremely similar to this, almost fell backwards when i spied these after a few years, jebaz they are in nice shape just a couple nicks on the upper arms, upper pins slide out easily, and light wear on the annodizing on the axles (considering there were bushing in the wheels)

Hello There,

I Think that's an Old HPI Front end, you may want to contact them for more info:
Hope this helps
Mike

Indeed thatīs an old HPI front end as used by the HPI RS10G, I still have one sitting here.
The holes on the lower suspension block were used for a graphite brace. In difference to the AE front end the lower arms are not fixed but moving so a real double wishbone suspension.

The HPI 10GW also used that front suspension.

sweet
thanks guys
its nice to know what i have sitting here, helps my research a lil

i can already see a couple weak points in the suspension that could use improvement, with my procrastination i should have a prototype by the time theres a woman president of the usa

That has to be the cleanest/nicest desk photo I've ever seen on RcTech.

if i took the pic in the "rc dungeon" (as a few friends call it) there would be too many distracting things in the background
