Might not be 1/12 wheels, but 1/12 scale foams mounted on stock 18r wheels. Check this out.

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=BXRR4004

I ordered a set of BSR foams for my 18T. What a huge difference in performance. BSR actually mounts 1/12 scale tires to factory 1/18 scale rims modified to accept foam tires. Hope this helps.

Here's pics of an RC18T with 1/12th scale tires and wheels:

http://s92437987.onlinehome.us/ebayp...ll-tires-3.jpg
http://s92437987.onlinehome.us/ebayp...ll-tires-4.jpg

I made adapters to fit the 1/12th wheels onto the RC18T axles:

http://s92437987.onlinehome.us/ebayp...adapters-2.jpg

http://s92437987.onlinehome.us/ebayp...rs-wheel-2.jpg

I didn't think anyone else would care. When I posted on one18th.com I got one guy that made a comment. I can make these for sale if there is enough interest.

The real advantage of doing this is that it gives you a choice of the many different tire compounds available in 1/12th scale fronts.

In the same vein, I also made a set of front axles for my Mini-Slider that let me use 1/12th front tires and wheels with 3/16X5/16 bearings on the front. So in Oval, I run a blue RF and a black LF. Prevents traction rolls and I can pretty much go full throttle through corners with my slider running a 6800 Mamba. I had someone complain that I was "using parts no one else can buy."

So the 1/12 wheel won't slip, wear out, or spin on that adapter at all? That could be cool for my 18R... I run the BRP truck tires on my 18R right now and really like them for carpet with jumps. The 1/12 wheels wouldn't provide as much cushion, though, but still worth trying.

The adapters are knurled and fit so tightly that they must be pressed in with a vise or a drill press. Once the tires are worn out, they can be pressed out again and re-used. I think at one point I tried pressing one out while the wheel was on a bathroom scale. I stopped when I got to about 50 pounds. It didn't move.

You have to use wheels designed for flanged bearings that have a hole the same size all the way through. The adapters won't fit in wheels that take unflanged bearings unless you drill or ream them out and if you get the hole a litte too big they won't fit as tightly or they could wobble.

I don't see them as being as important in off-road unless you are really anal about compound selection. Also, they don't have to be trued down as much as shown in the pics - I was just experimenting with worn out 1/12th fronts. (But, in fact, I run the tires on my slider pretty close to that diameter - but that is oval.)

The two reasons I run the truck BRP tires are for the added width of the tire and because of the harder compound on the front outer tire that helps prevent traction roll. The same effects would be achieved with the 1/12 tires. It's not being anal about compounds; the more choices the better

I would run them untrued anyway, although I do like to do just plain on-road once in awhile. How much might a set of those adapters cost if you were to make some more?...

Basically my 18R is the "toy" out of my vehicles, I just like to make it unique and have fun with it. Adding 1/12 tires would be awesome

I'd do 6 for $25 plus whatever it costs to ship, provided more people are interested. It takes time to set up the machines so it is not worthwhile for me to do one set.

1/12th scale fronts at full standard size are about the same as the 1/18th tires so using them untrued is a reasonable approach.
