The way i see it, rc body manufacturers like protoform try to make design more race orientated rather than replicating the scaled looks of the real car etc.. infact thats all were going to use it for racing. Detail etc dont really matter in the end.

This Mazda 6 looks the same as what it is in the road only the rear has been a little reshaped. Just imagine it as a JGTCC participant

The problem isn't with Protoform, the problem is that we run bodies on our "1/10th scale" cars, that have to be stretched out and fattened up to fit our "scale" chassis. Most HPI bodies are closer to 1/9th than 1/10th scale. This body bears a decent resemblance to a "fully-kitted" 6. And hey, at least it's not another HIDEOUS Stratus.

Those spill plates on the wing have got to go, or atleast mold them in like Losi's. From my experience with the last proto alfa, you couldn't use a circle cutter to do the wheel wells up front and the lexan was very very thin at certain points. Then you get the ugliness of those big nutz on the wing. The m6 looks nice aerodynamically, but if it's anthing like the alfa to work on...

Well I think it looks pretty sweet.

-I don't think its any different than any other 'racing' body. The companies basically take a winning body shape and apply a new front grill and headlights and new rear lights mold to it, and re-name it They all look almost exactly the same once you pull the decals off. But, I guess thats why they include the decals! People who care about scale looks go to Tamiya or HPI for bodies. I'm kinda middle of the road, I like it to handle well, but still look good....and I think this body has that.

-If the rear wing has to be lower than the roof to fit Roar restrictions, then its definitely lower than the roof. Why do I say that.......ummm, well because Protoform list that the body "fits all Roar requirements"

-Those wing nuts are quite horrid! I really prefer the way Losi molded its Alfa rear wing. It may have been hard to paint correctly, but it definitely looked better.

All in all, this looks to be a successful body for Protoform.

I just hope they get it out to the shops quickly and in good quantities. Protoform has been struggling with this on their last few popular bodies.

Also, a 200mm part no. would be nice!

Their description list the wing mounts as adjustable height, so that's one fix....also with the Alfa, there are 2 sets of lines molded into the wing...the ones if u want a MASSIVE wing, and the legal lines. Don't think that should be an issue. As stated before....it looks like an in between body between the Stratus and Alfa. Look forward to painting some up....the front end looks to be real swoopy....should make for some wicked custom painted lights!!

A 200mm would be a shoe in for my body for next season. Considering I may get the real car, what better than race what you ride!

the front has alot of rake so that should give it alot of steering while that rear wing (2nd biggest to the suzuki escudo 1/8th scale buggy wing) should make it very stable

gotta love those sexy DTM lookalike wheel arches on the rear

speedxl- I agree! lol. Its funny since BMW has done pretty well in real touring cars for lets see... EVER, lol. Them and alfa are the two main companies in the ETCC, they represent really well in the US with the Speed Touring series (as well as GT)... You think someone could design a fast racing body around it, but i will be happy with the mazda for now.
