Does using nicd and nimh effect the motor and ESC?

This was asked of me at work from an older electric engineer....
Does running a NICD battery pack and then running a NIMH battery pack effect the ESC or the motor?
Should a racer stick to one or the other?
Setting up the ESC using one effect the other?
Does running a 2400 Sanyo NICD pack and then a SMC 3300 NIMH hurt/help/doesn't matter?

:weird: I answered quite boldy..... "Dunno".....

I cant imagine that it should make any difference. I'm using both NiMh and NiCd and both delivers voltage and amps.

Their performance differ (voltage, internal resistance, weight and capacity), but other than that, no difference.

So it's only about which performance that is required, and how much you care about maintenance (and of course, a proper charger is required)

there shouldnt be any effect to the ESC or motor if your talking about..changing how the esc or motor works and stuff. the Nicd and nimh are just batteries and supply power to the motor, the esc just redriects the power to the motor and the reciever.
