Where abouts is the racing?

Without saying the obvious, surely the race organiser would be able to fill you in about the specifics of the rules?

Sometimes an event will have rules made just for that event or series that are not general rules, (spec tyres or motors etc for example) so I would look into that.

Classes like VTA, WGT, Tamiya Mini, or 1/12 have a national set of rules, spec weight, motors, batts....and all of that.

Many club tracks allow some leaway on those classes, VTA might allow different bodies, 1/12 might not be as picky on weight and so on.

If you already have a car show up and run. If you are looking to start, go up when they start racing.....see what is being run and ask questions. See what you want to run and go from there.

Here are some limks for you:

USVTA http://www.usvintagetransam.com/

ROAR http://www.roarracing.com/rules.php

WGT http://www.worldgtrc.com/World%20GT%...s%20-%2009.pdf

Classes will depend upon what is popular in your area. Stock rubber, (13.5 and 19T), seems to be popular and VTA is becoming very popular in the midwest.

After last night's meeting, it looks like there will be 1/12 scale, TC rubber tires, TC foam if enough show up and possibly a spec TC class for road course on Sundays. If there is enough interest, they will run WGT as well. The VTA class was not brought up but that doesn't mean that they won't have them. The owners are open to just about anything including running the 1/18 scale off road cars on Friday night.

There is also going to be an oval group with a few classes that I can not remember. I know they were talking about a Losi Slider class and the pan cars were probably going to be lipo/17.5. There will be a lot more info in the St.Louis Carpet Racing thread in the Kansas/Missouri Racing section when dodgeguy has some time to post it.

Target date for opening right now is first couple of weeks in March, depending on when the current occupant vacates the building.
