timming boost 20 and zero on the motor,

Thats a good starting point... Then start on the fine tuning if need be, or simply because you're looking for "beyond warp speed"

Also, be prerared for yourself saying "woah horsey!!!" more than once...

When you do try this setup. Do pay careful attention to gearing. Gotta drop teeth off of the motor pinion. Then watch it really fly!!!!
Haha! You got the hint at what movie I was talking about.

Now when you say pay attention to the gearing, what is a good gear ratio to start off with and what spur size do you recommend? I am in the process of building an Xray T2'009 and T2R Pro and both will have Tekin RS Pro ESCs in them. The T2R Pro will be used for VTA and the T2'009 EU will be used for 13.5 Rubber.

jer7469: the 20 boost is done via Hotwire. Your buddy should show you how to set that up with your ESC. Also, keep a temp gauge nearby and monitor your motor temps every 5 minutes. You do not want to break the 180*F mark or else you start shaving life off your motor.

tc3team: I only had 6 boost on my Speed Passion 13.5 motor in my CRC Gen X 10 WCGT car and not only was I saying "WOAH HORSEY!!!" but there was another two or three people saying the same thing! Then I added another 4 boost and it was ridiculous. I had to take my car off the track as it was still untreated after reconfiguring the track for the big race this Saturday and Sunday at The Track.

liljohn1064 is damn right. Stock setup to custom setups, these ESCs really know how to route juice from your battery to your motor. And even keep cool in the process the more your hammer response from your ESC and motor. I loved the Tekin ESC so much, I now have 3 of them for all three of my cars. If I get another car, it will most definitely be Tekin. I have been a Tekin fan since the 90s, then they closed shop, Tekin made a huge come back when they opened shop again, then I came back to their products instantly as I joined back into the hobby. I swear by Tekin.

In Tekin's name, Amen.

You Got mail.
also added an uninstall word doc because you must first uninstall the prefius version.
After updating you must reset your speedo. so connect your speedo to a lipo or smoting.
press both buttons till the ligts go licht up.

the updating will take a wile. don't disconnect the speedo until you get the menu back and the 5 steps were finished.

good luck with it and watch out, it's fast

After reading this whole thread i m now convinced that my next ESC will be the Tekin RS PRO. I m racing mod class usually. Now my next Q,it is not available here locally so the only thing that I can do is to order it from HK site which is the nearest to my region, is there a Tekin distributor around south east asia region? I like to have support if anything should happen to it like repairing or etc. Say if I buy it from HK site will Tekin still cover the warranty and will they accept if I send it to them for repair or service if anything should happen?

One more thing, how about their Redline motor? are they any good?

With the "woah horsey" approach, I guess we took a leaf out of the "Italian Stallions, Prancing Red horse book", refined it, then came up with something very special .... Maybe they will learn from us in time too?

Also, always good to hear a testimony to Tekin.

dameetz, I can't answer for Tekin on your warranty prospects, but I can tell you I absolutely love my Redline 17.5 and RS Pro. Quite a few guys I race with have fried sensors or otherwise ended up with a junk motor not paying attention to their temperatures, even running an RS ESC. My Redline 17.5 has survived temperatures that made me cringe trying to get the absolute most out of my gearing and timing configuration, and still runs as strong as ever.

I'm also one of those "back in the day" Tekin guys who has come back and found Tekin better than ever, they're on top of the game when it comes to laying down power, winning races is up to you. If you're already winning without Tekin, then switching over would just be a mean way to hurt people's feelings even more!

As I am from the UK, I wouldn't know where the retail outlets/distributors are in your area but if you check out our website home page, there should be some info on your question there.

If there isn't, or you can't find it, shoot a mail over to Sherri or Randy and they will answer that Q for you

From what I know of, your warranty is valid providing you have a reciept for your purchace(s). You will need to provide details of this in any goods sent in for repair.

Also, I would choose the sensored motor to go with your RS Pro as they are the latest line of motors we have, that in turn also makes finding a good ratio easier for it...

I'm happy to hear that everyone is happy with the Tekin RS. We're continually building upon it.
