Does anyone know if there's a US distributor importing the RC Dynamics booster? I might want to try one of those since the voltage output is a little higher, and I can't use a 2S LiPo receiver pack since my receiver won't handle the extra voltage w/o a regulator.
No US distributor as yet. The easiest way to get one is to email Mark Jordan direct at the address supplied on his web site (address is in my earlier post). Price and postage to USA are also on his web site.

The problems with boosters seem to be with particular combinations of electronics rather than one individual component. The RC Dynamics booster is the only one I have found to work with my combination of a Tekin RS (203), JR Z3650 servo and KO 408S receiver.

I have a $4.00 HobbyCity booster (same thing as the TQcells...) that has worked great with my Tekin and Novak GTB before it for roughly 2 points series now (about 7 months of racing).
I have used my hobbycity booster for months now with my LRP setup. I have just converted tekin and purchased the RS Pro.

Can you confirm that the hobbycity booster works with the Pro and the latest firmware

I'd rather not use a rx pack and have to bother charging it also.

thanks

not sure if the ice charger predates the Li-Fe packs or not (cause they are not listed in their specs) but does anybody know if the ice can charge life packs? thanks.. has anybody run a lipo rx pack without a regulator or is it required?

Where did you get the Li-Fe receiver pack?

Epic/Trinity makes a small li-fe 6.6V pack with 220 mahr with an on/off switch connected. Perfect for pan car. Team EPIC / Trinity Part#: TEP 2006.

Price is $24.50 from Nexus Racing. Only place I had found one so far.

Works great as long as you have a li-fe capable charger.

OK, here is a weird problem...

1/12 scale, Tekin RS Pro V203, 1s LiPo, voltage booster 17.5 Duo 1 motor. Zero degree timing on motor, max boost, max turbo, 0.3 delay, default start and end RPM, no voltage cutoff, neutral 10, brake strength 100, drag brake 5, rollout 3.10 inches.

Car runs great for about 5 minutes, then falls on it's face badly, slower by around 3 seconds per lap (10.5 fast lap, to 13.5 seconds at the end). Motor is only 106 degrees after entire 8 minutes. ESC was cold, so no chance of it overheating. Case, as well as posts weren't even warm.

Swap out motor to brand new 17.5 Duo 2, try different battery, different voltage booster. Same thing. Motor is only 115 degrees after 8 minutes. Not losing control (like if regulator was dropping out).

Otherwise, car was very fast. Leading race, had a lap up over 3rd place, but he was able to make it up, pass me, and finished 1 lap up over me. I can see dropping off a few tenths, but not 30%.

Any ideas?
