Seem to save the cars from a bit more damage too, don't have a car getting launched over head high after flipping in a corner and having a mobile ramp drive under it at full speed.
Nice but haven't seen them like at worlds

Are people stop running them

Am I wrong?

Guys at the worlds don't usually crash too much.

They're still legal in 1/12, but that doesn't make them required.

Does 12th scales roll over?

Any pics please of booster in a car or receiver packs so I can see how you placed it?
This is the set up I've been running for over a year. Works awesome.

I use a Losi Micro 4 cell NiMh pack. (About $8 - 9) I can use my old charger on it.
I'm a cheap ass.

I noticed the transponders also got smaller but yours looks regular

I do run a rollover stick, but when I pack the car in the pit-bag, it is removed.
That is the older personal transpo, saved the new tiny one for the mod car, where is is easy to tuck away.

Interesting , I thought the receiver pack would plug straight into the receiver.

Is there a reason you do it this way?

Wiring it the way shown allows the whole electrical system to be operated by a single switch.

Also Tekin says if you plug a 2 cell lipo directly into the RX it will kill the ESC over time. Needs to be regulated down to 6V. Personally I just run a booster, just plug in and go.

This wiring diagram was on this thread a year ago.

They said that wiring into the switch harness puts the receiver pack in series with the main pack. So you can run a 1s, 2s, 6.6v LiFe, 4.8v NiMh or even a single 1.2v NiMh and the most the radio will see is 6.0v from the ESC's BEC circuit.

Default Receiver Pack

Today i ran a life receiver pack for the first time, after the 2nd practice session the car died (12th scale 17.5 blinky). A buddy came over and said it was because the tekin switch was on, it needs to be in the off position otherwise it back feeds the motor from the receiver pack. I killed the receiver pack (brand new), shows 1 volt.

What am i missing, nothing for the last few posts about receiver packs mentions this?

I'm sure your buddy means well but you can leave the Tekin's switch on to use the LVC or leave it off if you have enough discipline to pull off before you over discharge the pack.

You can leave the power wire plugged into the receiver. I and all the other RX pack users with Tekins at my track set it up the same and in two years have not had one failure of a receiver pack or of an ESC unless you count reversing the battery wires when plugging it in.

Check with Tekin and they'll tell you the same thing.

Also from what I understand about LiFe is that they can be discharged much deeper than Lipo. Check to see if you used a LiFe compatible charger because using a Lipo charge profile will overcharge the pack.
