I've edited my previous post by adding some diodes to the parts list and updating the schematic... anyone who was interested in trying this should follow the updated directions.

The diodes reduce the input voltage to the receiver and ESC by around 1.4 volts.

I just want to mention something else... I thought I could make good solder joints in small spaces... Twice yesterday the lead came off my little E-Flite battery and my car switched off during a run. I started further back on the grid in the main because of this, and I DNF'd in the main. I've been soldering for the better part of forty years, and this was a humbling experience. Thankfully the little celll didn't short out when the wire came disconnected, but I'm starting to think this whole thing was an exercise in futility...

Here is a picture of the one cell in a SpeedMerchant with the Tekin RS and the booster.

You can see the plug that I added for the booster. It is plugged into the receivers battery spot. As you can see, no swith and since I was running the car in another heat with cells the switch is in the normall spot, I just did not turn it on.

Is that a piece of foam between the battery and the electronics?

Yes, I used it to keep the lipo from moving forward. Left the battery locator home in the hobby room.

Wow, this is what I have been waiting for. Time to build a mini 5 cell rx pack and buy the 12r5 I have been drooling over. With 12th scale is there any reason to run the RS pro vs RS.

Wood, no. Unless you're going to run mod motors like 5.5's etc there is no need to get the RS Pro. The RS can easily handle spec motors.

I will soon be testing 1S lipo with the following parameters and getting back to you guys with results.

- Tekin RS
- Duo 13.5
- TQ Booster
- Latest software 1.94
- rollout around 79mm
- 12R5
- 1S SMC 4000 mah lipo

We did try 17.5 a couple weeks ago but decided to go with 13.5.

Send an e-mail to RPike and he is sending it out. I have tried it yet, and won't be racing this weekend. But I'm sure there will be many giving it a try shortly.

Held someraces on the weekend and found thata 3.2 rollout was fine at our track.

Had DUO 13.5 in middle position (timing) and RS boost at 15.

Should I increase the boost ? or timing on the motor ?

I just put together a single cell 12th scale without a booster or receiver battery and everything seems to work. The only thing i dont like is how slow the servo is. I ordered the TQ booster and should have it soon.

Without the booster I had problems with my transponder that was very weak and working only half the time. The light was dim on it.

Those of you using a booster are you turning the esc switch on? If not, does the mean the setting in it are not being used??

With a booster whats the correct thing to do? My tekin esc is on 1.89 software.

I have the Tekin RS switch OFF and yes the settings in the speed will work except for lipo cutoff off course because the Booster is feeding the speed.
