Carbon Fibre Chassis Buffing
Hello,
im curious as if there is a possiblity to polish away scratches from an assphalt abused carbon chassis plate? The scratches ar hideous and no I cannot live with them. Will a 1200-2000 grit sandpaper and rubbing compound bring back the original shine and luster of the carbon weave? |
depending on how bad it is you can rub blue loctite on the scratches and they will be a lot less visible.

only makin it thinner which doesnt help the performance or strength of chassis (in extreme cases). there was somethin that u could lay out over the chassis and then wipe it in and it'd fill in some stuff without buffing (like that color matching dent paint). cant remember now

If its killing you that bad then fill in the scratches with some fiberglass resin and then sand it back down to the original dimensions with some fine grain sand paper. Then you can polish it with a compound.
