The length of the shaft from tip to motor case is 17.5mm, and is 3.5mm longer than a brushed 540 motor, that's why I have a problem installing my BL motor onto the car. Is it possible that you can measure the shaft in your motor and see how long it is? Thanks.

I had more of an issue with the solder tabs restricting the gearing i could run - couldn't get a pinion small enough on it because the motor wouldn't rotate enough to get the pinion/spur to mesh, so i was left with running a higher gear ratio then i felt was 'appropriate' for the car

Just cut off the extra with a dremel?
I have done that a lot in the past with 540's though, not brushless.

I really can't agree with you there...

The VW Golf MK1 GTI was one of the first hatchback's with superior performance (at that time) and became an icon. I live in Norway, and one of the most popular VW's among entusiasts is actually the MK1 GTI.

Here's the GTI that have taken trofees from every VW Meeting in Scandinavia I think. My good friend Thomas' MK1 GTI that is almost 100% Original.

HPI, please make the GTI.

Dub's forever!

Also the Scirocco , the Old sport coupe of VW sharing many chassis pieces from the golf did his job in the '70 Motorsport...
Not enought Sport..? not enought Classic...?

No offense, but I think if you start going down that path with the VW Golf, you start to open the door to a bunch of other hot econo hatches which is endless. Besides the VW Golf has already been represented before on a Tamiya. Not sure if that was TC or Mini.

However, the Scirocco would be a change of pace.

Default FWD cars... boooo

Rear wheel drive cars are more popular. They're true sports cars. Maybe that's why the cupracers have been rwd cars, regardless of the RC 4WD chassis. Let's see a gti do that!

Default What a waste of money

Exactly my point. RWD is better. But you have to spend alot of time and money to make a volkswagon worth driving. I spend my money on horsepower not drivetrain conversion

This discussion can last forever, so let's just sit back and relax. HPI will make the bodies they find effort in making.

Didn't they re-release the Civic SI hatch back for the cup racer? I agree rear wheel drive cars are better, but front wheel drive cars can be cool too. I'd buy a GTI body if HPI made one.
