CR rear diff question. Just bought a used one and am going through it. It appears there is to much play in the input side of the rear diff. The shaft with the spur gear seems to have to much play. I took it apart and can't seem to see a reason for it. Moves back and forth too much and some side to side play as well. Thoughts?

I think I remember your issue coming up with someone else as well. Yet I don't recall what the issue was.

Do you have the manual, -go back and look at every part in that area make sure everything is present. There may be a washer missing? (It's been a few years since I sold my last CR).

Keep it in the box. If you have not built
it yet. Its worth more in the box. If you wish to sell it later on.

Hi guys. I've done a google search and come up empty... does anyone know if there are good touring car tire options for the Cup Racer, i.e. something with some tread on it? All I can find are slicks and drift tires. Thanks! Here are a couple of pics of my MR2 Cup Racer.

My favorite setup has been with the RiDE mini 54mm tires (slicks), I like to run the hard compound up front and medium compound on the rear, I've got a full set of new tires and used wheels that I'm willing to sell these for $25 shipped in the CONUS for anyone interested:

as far as running radial tires go, there are several brands to choose from Kawada, Shimizu and Tamiya... I've tried them all and nothing comes close to the performance and longevity as the RiDE slicks, but if all you want is a shelf queen, then I think the coolest looking tread pattern is from Yeah Racing, but they are complete garbage which is why they're practically giving them away here:
Yeah Racing, 1:10 Mini Rubber Tire Set (4pcs) ,(WL-2007)

Trust me when I say that the RiDE tires will save you tons of money when compared to anything else on the market.

Thanks for the response. I found lots of M-Chassis wheels and tires, but the M-Chassis tires are smaller than the stock Cup Racer tires. I thought they might not look scale. Can you post a pic of the Cup Racer with M-Chassis tires for reference? Thanks!

I don't own the Cup Racer anymore, but have been running my NRX-12 with a Cup Racer body on it:

*** I use Flickr to host my pics, I copy the url from my account (after selecting an appropriate resolution) and use IMG tags like this:

but without spaces to get this:

Here's what to expect for performance with a brushed 27T motor with the RiDE tires:

Bumping an old thread! I'm looking for suggestions on a motor for the Cup racer. I was running a speed passion 17.5r clubsport motor. But its no longer working. Not sure if it is the motor or the ESC. Suggestions on something new? Would a competition motor work?

I run a 13.5 SpeedPassion Competiton 3.0 personally. In the past I've run more powerful things but I prefer a smooth (sensored) 13.5 over other motors.
