I like my CRC. For XRAY's sake I hope they do a full lipo pack and not a saddle. The $250 range sounds about right. As for less carbon, the CRC has more than my T1Fk05. The CRC has less moving parts than any TC. In my opinion, its the one to copy.

I wish them luck and will have fun racing against them.

I bet it looks 100% like their 12th scaler. Just with 200mm with, longer wheelbase and probably a larger shock. I don't think X-ray makes something new or innovativ.

Materials and production costs on this kit is around $7 USD each.

But then of course you have to figure in that "world class European engineering" to the total cost.

meh.. not really impressed. It's nice though.

but it does strike me as: "oh crap! there's a 10 scale pan car market now so we gotta make something quick and get in!"

and based on the X11? 12 scale's been around for a very long time and they are just now getting into it?

well i'll never claim that i know everything but, since i have been racing, 10 scale pan was never big, now that there is a spec class, spec rules./ Races are more inclined to run. From what i remeber, pan car was a mod class, and it was way too fast, and kinda a gong show. I am excited about the new rules, and i cant wait to start running one.

These cars with a 21.5 Lipo (or 13.5 4 cell for the die hards) will be absolutely awesome for racing. The spec tires from Jaco, CRC and BSR are all excellent. I think there are other tire makers jumping in too. Protoform and HPI make some excellent GT1 and GT2 bodies for these cars. The slower speeds and realistic looks will make this a great class. I'm sure some will want to widen the car to 235 mm and go as fast as possible, but that's not for me either. In fact with the 21.5, I'm already faster than the TC class. The fastest cars in our racing schedule locally right now are .... F1s with silver cans... seriously. They put a hurt on the 12th scales with 17.5 BL and 4 Cell.

We're running 4-cell / 13.5 and 2S Lipo / 21.5 together in Utah. 21.5 / lipo is a blast!
