motor timing
or
weak batteries

reset the motor timing to zero or whatever it's lowest setting is
then SLOWLY advance it trying to see if the car "spx's" after each setting change

hate to ask but: you are on profile 8 right? or at least 7?

Nah, we hooked my esc up to his motor with his radio and batts and it SPX'd. Tried profile 7 and 8.

Thanks for trying Jay, but me and Brandon both think the thing just stopped working. Cause it worked fine for awhile, but then it just stopped. So im just gonna go to Tekin.

I tried to gear my SPX with an 9.5t stock spec motor.

I used profile 8.

I tried FDR 5,6,7.
At 8 the advanced timing kicked in.

Isn't 8FDR high gear ratio for an lrp 9.5?
The manuakl of the motor says 5.3 for long track, 7 for short track.

That's not really that high of a final for an SPX/9.5t combo. I know some guys running FDR's in the 6's with a 13.5 and in the 7's with a 10.5.

I can guarantee that the advice given in the manual for your motor is given for conventional speed controls that do not have the advanced timing features of the SPX.

Even with the same parts, there are a lot of variables such as what batteries you run and what the weather is like in your region that would make it hard for someone else to help you.

Now that you are seeing the timing advance kick with the new final drive, you should start gearing for motor temperature. i.e. you want your motor to be around 150-160* F after a 6 minute run on the track.
