DSM pro or DSS

Hello RCTECH

Looking to upgrade my M8 to spektrum technology. Should I use DSM pro or DSS package? I just can't figure out which is best. Also do I need a voltage regulator to run a 3C lipo as a transmiter battery pack. Will be racing a Tekin Brushless system in one car and a brushed Novak in VTA, will Spektrum modules and reciever work in both cars?

Thanks
RMP

Spektrum all the way.... both are 2.4 ghz but only spektrum system have channel locking (Patent). With other 2.4 ghz system your frequency keeps on hopping from channel to channel which tends to glitch cause of this.

Thanks, but from what I've gathered both systems operate on 2.4ghz. I just dont know which is better. I understand that one has the technology to lock in a frequency and the other has a rolling search for a frequency. But if they both have the same amount of lag time I would rather spend $100.00 dollars versus $160.00. If i have to spend $160.00 I would rather get the new M11. What do you seasoned racers think about that.

You would rather pay sixty dollars less knowing that the system your using may hiccup at a very import point of a race?

I've used both the Spektrum Pro system and the Airtronics DSSS system in my M8 and M11 radios. both worked well, neither glitched, but the Airtronics DSSS did have a quicker response.

Neither was as quick as the Spektrum DX3R tho.
