Default Nice work, rough!

Hopefully the time you spent going back through this thread is well spent to help the new guys get their cars set up.

oro27

IMO, the thing that made the TA03 a standout car of that era was the "F" configuration. The car is so easy to drive and can be thrown around as well as any sedan out there today. It's a great car to learn on and will teach you to be very competitive. One thing that makes a car fast is it's ability to hold the line while sliding. The "F" car does that as well as the competitive sedans on the market today. I would leave it in the "F" configuration and spend your money on the 0.4 gears and a good motor and spend your time getting the most out of the motor. JMO.

Psycho

Sounds like the heats that I am usually in. hehe. I notice that some of the newbies usually sign up a bit later then the seasoned verterans, my last race I signed up a bit early and I was in your heat. I should have signed up a bit later with most of the novice racers. There should be a novice class for stock.

rough

Nice job..

I am on vacation. See you all next week.

rough that is a killer job. Now I don't even have to look up the other guys setups. I might be getting another DJ car if I can trade my Schumacher EVO2 buggy to a guy for a TA04. I can then trade my buddy the 04 for his DJ car. I can then have a F and R models to race from time to time. That would be really cool to have both.

THANKS ALOT FOR ALL YOUR SUGGESTIONS AND TIPS FOR MY TAO3F, I might as well live the "F" configuration. And keep you posted regarding the performance. Thanks again.

They are just plain fun to race the 03 series of cars. No matter what other rides come out from Tamiya these are still one of the best and have had great longevity.

Should not be a problem. I ran 10 turns in mine at a few TCS races. As long as the gear mesh is correct it should be fine.

Keep those inputs coming.

I just installed a 10T motor in my 03F DJ the speed that the car has is unbelieveable.

I try Integy sway bars thick yellow in the rear and green med in the front but that did not work the car simply would not try. I switch them around and see what happens.

Remember with a torque-splitter the front needs to have a softer feel.. I run a firmer springs than most.

Dongskie maybe I missed it but how about a picture without the body on? Just like to check your ride.

Thanks

I couldnt find a 414M so now i've switched my sights: Tamiya TA03RS TRF. If anyone can find one at a reasonable price, let me know.

BTW, how are these cars anyways? I remember fixing one for a customer and thought it had a very unique (and cool) drivetrain. Thanx in advance.
