Ran my MSX for the first time today at my clubs final meeting for the year, 3 heats and 2 finals format.

The car was generally superb for it's maiden run

It had heaps of steering, so that took some time to get used to (especially compared to my old "doesn't know what steering is" Mi2 )

So I made a few mistakes in the start of each heat but I was still happy to qualify 3rd for A.

Had a bit of bad luck in the first final, retired with interference but had a good run in the second final to finish 2nd, only a few seconds behind the winner. The car speed I had was definately much better than my previous car, it was nice to be able to get right into the apex of the corner for a change

Now, speaking of interference, probably the only bad point about the car (IMO) is the antenna mount. Having the antenna mount made from alloy, and screwing onto the carbon fibre is just asking for trouble as the antenna wire touches the mount when it exits the antenna tube.

This might not cause everyone interference but it seemed to be the cause of mine because when I insulated the antenna wire for the second final my car was fine. I don't normally get interference so I dont think it was my radio gear.

Anyway, I might see what other mount I can use, one that's plastic.

Otherwise, a good debut, and very happy with the car so far

The kit includes double 1-ways but i think kentech has put in the tamiya spool and direct pulley.

Just saw a picture at the German forum. Seems Marc used a MSX with old suspension.

I think there is no other picture of Marc´s car currently. Don´t know if this really is his race car. I just know he used Davids spare car in between for testing. Maybe because of this the PT is missing.

99% sure Marc ran a 415 not a MSX with the old suspension on. In that pic the car has not even got a pinion on .

Cool that you like the car... it's rapid and very easy to work on...

Just a little confused over your statement on the antenna mount though. I may just be me (and given that I'm running a Novak XXL reciver, mounted on it's side), but I've never had any problem with interference, and the ariel wire does run even remotely close to the alloy mount or carbon topdeck..
Still, if you've got it working for you now, it's all gravy

Anyway, Ran my MSX at Don Valley today, first time racing there in about a year. It's an indoor running track, very odd surface, no additive allowed, on pre-guled Vtec24's. But the car was pretty much DIALLED.
Ended up using the old speedtech spool, if anything I was lacking a little bit of turn-in, but the car was massively stable, and with my new IB38's, and absolute missle.
Qualifed from the 3rd heat of 8, and ended up 34th overall. Should have been higher, but had massive trouble with backmarkers in my final run, and that kyboshed my attempt at 25laps, and a C final spot. Still Happy with that as my aim at the start of the day was to be top half of the grid.
Final didn't go very well, was distracted by the 6th place car glitching forward, then got big style T-boned at the second corner... ended up last, with a car the pulled left. Ended up being bundled over the pipe onto the straight by someone, and BANG... byebye left rear wishbone, end of race.

Still, good meeting, learnt a few more things about the car, and had an enjoyable time of it... "what time is it?" "HAMMER TIME!!"

Later
Ed

I've just scanned the official blank setup sheet for the 415 MSX. It can be found under this link. Beware, it is 890k in size:

Tryhard, you can use this on your 415 site as well.
