Default MS Chassis

Hi

I am going to buy the MSX conversion but I have a standard 415 with the 3mm chassis. So I was also going to buy the MS chassis, will this work with the standard suspension and not the LW suspension? is the 2.5mm chassis with the msx conversion a better car than with the 3mm chassis?

thanks for your help

Huh, that’s bad luck, My MSX kit arrived today (Just completed it - VERY NICE !) and I had forgotten about the T-Shirt deal. I unwrapped it and checked out the tag and thought that XL was going to be a bit big WRONG ! Fits perfect It's a really nice T-Shirt too.

The quality of the MSX kit is absolutely sensational.

Can't wait to try it out !

I would assume that they are in exactly the same position, as the front position won't have changed, whilst the rear there isn't much that can be changed, given the posts come off the same MS tower.

Just a note for you who may have an original 415 and buys an Shooter spool, you need 46mm swing shafts too with the Spool, since it's 6mm 'shorter' than the one-way unit.

They are (or should be) the same.

Hi there,

I've tested my MSX yesterday and -suprise suprise- nearly the same setup as the old 415. Anyway here's a little sum:

Track: High grip carpet
Tires: CS27, JB Foam blue inserts, Orion Disc wheels hard
Chassis: 3mm
Suspension: Standard
Front suspension blocks: 1A/1A Toe in 0°
Rear suspension blocks: 1X/1C Toe in 2.5°
Suspension spacer F/R: 4mm/0mm
camber F/R: 1.5/2°
Spring F/R: Tamiya white/Tamiya blue
Damper: 3-hole piston 600 Tamiya oil
upper damper mount hole F/R: one in from outside/outside

I ran a yellow stabilizer at the front to make the car more stable into the curves. It feels a little soft on carpet because it flexes more the the 415. Asphalt testing will follow this weekend. :-)

@ V12

Yes, it's me. The kits are still not available from Tamiya germany. But it's useful to know a famous tamiya works rider and to paint for him :-)

The only thing that you have to do is ream out a new antenna hole. It's offset by about 10-15mm.
