belt or shaft have nothing to do with straight line speed, perhaps will acceleration bit car like the 414 or the X-ray are similar in term of acceleration as a shaft car.

true ... it could be bcoz of (in a hurry) trying different electronic placements on the chasis to find more room for the motor cooling fan, perhaps ...

thanks, slowhand... ill go see if i can source some. i hate using tape, but that stuff looks like it should be easier to work with, maybe. at least it looks cool!!!!!

Its just a normal cap for the speedo he is using covered in Tamiya Battery wrap. You cannot buy the wrap from tamiya though, my friend picked some up off the team when we were over there last year. Rick

Think they are a Japan only part as i am dont think the Tamiya small nicads get sold anywhere else and as they are heat wrapped in Japan you might struggle to get them.

On the same note my mate was running them on his speedo at the euros and they pulled it up saying he had 2 extra batterys on his car! lmfmo. Rick

Yup they are the ones but you need it unfitted to cells so you can shrink it over the capacitor. Rick
