When did this happen??? I saw him clip the corner in the 3rd final and go into the wall, but can't remember Masami having anything to do with it.

You might be right... so I could just rephrase.. if barry did not put himself against the wall........ anyway, that's not my point.

I just happened to look both qualifying and finals standing in xray website without any comments about the race yet. From 1st to 4th qualifying are all the same with the final standing and the 2002 Champ dropped from 5th to 6th. It would be obvious that if you are not in the winning spot (top 3), especially in the middle,... shits happend more when the buzz starts.

I do not watch the race nor reading any race comments (as it could be bias depend on who made the reports ). But based on that list, looks like Barry still coming strong and consistent on winning major races.

- For the world class drivers.....I think all of them are pretty close...if you say "no where near the skill of Barry Baker", I don't think so....Surikarn won the HK event over Barry...and even the world event....

- Peak and Orion are from the same company....they have been used by top drivers like HARA, Jukka.......if their products not good....they will not use them...

barry actully put himself into the wall [well he clipeed it] going down the back straight wich damaged the spur and it stripped.
then masami hit surikarn but waited for him then surikarn won the ifmar worlds championship 2002-2003.
even if masami won that 3rd leg he wouldnt have won the championship and iam sure he wud rather want surikarn to win then barry.
just my 2 cents worth.

Pyramid, your not fooling anyone. You personally think Barry is a better driver. That is not a proven fact. They have both proven to be equally fast.Quit trying to push your opinion on everyone.By the way,Barry hit the wall himself. And because he did, thats why he's not world champion. That doesnt take away the fact that surikarn won fair an square.Your so pathetic in your attempts to make hime look bad.Guess what?Noones listening anymore.I dont have a preference between the 2 because I know they are both World class drivers.

We'll say it happens to all racers to screw up on a major race. Unfortunately for him, Barry did screw up the 3rd final. Now this is a 1 1/2 yrs old story.

All drivers in the top 20 of the worlds are equally the same, there is a point where you need more than skills, because the others also have those skills.

Now who watches the start of the 3rd worlds final can't say that it was not a great move.

It was an awsome move on surikarns part.Did you hear the crowd after they saw that? They were all in awe!The couldnt believe that this Nobody at the time put that move on Barry and Masami or was it hara?Anyways your right. When it gets to that top 10-20 it comes down to equipment and a little luck.Skills are on the same level.

The 415's performed very well IMHO as it had a lot against it when going up against cars that drivers have been using for ages and know what effect every small change will have. Where as the 415 drivers were going into the even cold and as grip would have come up on the track they possibly did not have the same depth of understanding in the car as other teams did.

On the driver argument front all i have to say is IMHO David Spashett is up there with Masami but seems to just be on a bit of a poor run at the moment. At the UK Reedy race i though Surikarn's driving was a bit below par ie trying to go through other peoples cars and not pass them cleanly but as i say this is just my opinion......

Racenut asked whether it was Masami or Hara. It was Masami qualified 2nd, not hara (which was 5th).
