Folowing on from my Q earlier, I had a lok further back into this thread, and found some decent pics of where ppl have put there ballast, so following this here are some pics of where i put my ballast now.

50 g at the front

Tried to get it as far forward as possible, whilst keeping it balanced form side to side.

and 25g at the rear.
.

Required me to take off the camberlink brace, but I got the weight in there, again as close to the centreline as possible (whilst keeping it balanced left-right), the 5g is just to the left of the centreline, the belt gets in the way....

Regards
Ed

Yes I have the Tamiya White ones on my car now..
But I have the Rush and ECHO ones before...the Echo ones felt a bit free spining than the Tamiya ones....

Hi guys, I got a quick Q about springs.

What springs does everyone use? I got some of the Tamiya on-road ones, but they appear to be shorter than the kit spec ones, so I don't know how well they'll work.

I've noticed Speedtech has a spring set (TAM53440), are these the ones to get?

Regards
Ed

Tryhard they are almost the same due to their shorter length the spring rate is a touch stiffer then the long spring.

I also run the Associated springs when I can't get the rate I need with the Tamiya spring

Default Shock oil

How does the oil in the kit compare to Associated weights. I have heard it is a little thinner then 35 weight.

do you have the part numbers for these sets of springs?

can these be used for carpet racing as well?

and finally, which shock oil weight is best suited for carpet racing and the springs mentioned above.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey Guys, had my first race with the 415 tonight.

All I can say is Awesome, car was one of the fastest in a straight line (27t), and after stiffening up and changing tyres handled awesomely. If I hadn't been in the bottom heat, and driven a bit better, I would have been on a deffinate 18 lapper (I made 17 in 307), and possibly a 19, right up the sharp end (TQ for stock was a 19lapper). Man it was awesome, and it all drew jealous glances from other racers. Not bad for it's first time out, now time to get used to it.

Well worth the money, I am absolutely stunned at the moment, ca't wait till next Friday to try it in Mod (got a nice new 12x1 Orion v2 touring to put in)

Ed
