Sadly the 415ms doesn't have the cool aluminum air duct cut out on the chassis. It won't be used for track more for display (I find the motor/bulkhead combo pretty interesting) and every now and then it will get some drift tires slapped on and sent sliding sideways.

Default Front Spool

Does anyone have a front spool they’d be willing to sell for a TRF415? I love this car but I race it on unprepped asphalt and I really prefer a spool. Thanks!

What size of spool are you after? The 35t and 36t pulley spools are different.

It’s a 35 pulley. I’ve been watching eBay, etc for Tamiya part 49358, but none have come for sale.

Long time no see RCTech!

I found a beautiful asphalt track 15 minutes from my place, which made want to run a touring car again after maybe a 15 years hiatus.

My good friend from those touring days is proposing me a cheap 415MS in mint condition.

I want to run modern electronics, body and tires. I have a few questions:

what pinion(s) would you suggest to start with for a 13.5 motor and a medium sized track

Do you recommend to run modern springs? If so which brand still makes “long” springs? Axon? How do you find an equivalent which let’s say Tamiya Yellow springs?

What else should I check?
Im planning on buying a cheap setting board but my friend also recommended to check bulkheads alignment and I’m wondering if there’s a tool compatible with this platform.

I’m not trying to be competitive at all. If I like it, I’ll consider upgrading to a more modern chassis.

thanks I’m advance for the help.

I already have the period correct springs, I'm considering upgrading to "modern springs" and I'm wondering if there are any in the same length as the 415s
