That's not why it won't work though (rear spool is a common drift setup). It won't work becuase it will put the pulley in the center. The rear pulley on the 415MSX+ is offset. It might work if you mount the pulley on the wrong side and shim it to make the belt run straight...

Ok little help needed. I picked up a clean MSX and going to use it for RCGT, what I was wondering is, does anyone know if a aluminum C hub is made for this car? Is there one available for the TB or TA05 that will fit? Any help will be appreciated.

Does the 37t pulley from trf416 fits onto my trf415 msxx mre original front spool and rear diff ?

If I changed my pulley to 37t with center pulley 18t, do I need to change the belts ? If so, which belts do I need to chabge.

Need a spool for my TRF 415
Does anyone know of a spool for the TRF 415. If so what is the part number? I would prefer a Tamiya 1 to stay TCS legal. Does the one from the 415msx work on the original 415.

Thanks,
Larry

Yes the spool from the MXS will work, but you also have to get the direct drive pulley for the layshaft. I dont have PNs handy but will post it later.

The PN for the direct drive pulley is 53708

Ok asking again, does anyone know of a set of aluminum c hubs that are made for this car, or will c hubs from a TA05 work?

Hello guys,

I just got a really good deal on a TRF415 and I will like to use it for RCGT class. My question is can I run 6 cell stick packs on this chassis?? Do I need to buy anything so I can fit them?? I know that on my EVO 3 you can run stick packs but not sure if I can on the 415.. Thanks in advance

Hey.

i guess u could run stick pack with the original chassis but would require a fair bit of taping the pack to the chassis. However there is a conversion for the 415 to fit stick packs.

Those setups are so old. Not even one for the MSXX, let alone short suspension arms...

If your using short arms, just go with the more modern 416 setups. The base setups in the Jilles Groskamp thread should point you in the right direction...

thx guys.. i have now tried several setups incl the 416 ones. the car
is still way out of control with the xenon tires. cant figure it out. seems like
there is something broke but havent found it yet.

edit:
i was shortly changing to the short arms (53928) on my MSXX MRE 2007 (42104).
i am running CC blocks in front, which should give me no trouble with the 46 mm shafts.
i am a little worried about the rear. in the rear i am currently running XA - E (new 416 blocks) and also 46mm shafts. any experience on that?? do i have to change to 44 mm in the rear??

thx for the help!!

The gear charts can be found inside the manuals. The manuals can be downloaded on TamiyaUSA.com. Simply look up the kit (via part number) and there will be a link in the upper right corner to download the manual...

BTW: Kit spur gear is 102T 0.4module (similar to 64pitch)
