Thanks to all those that helped out with info on the new car. Word from Tamiya USA is no conversion kit will be out, so piecing the car together or buy new is the only way to upgrade. The old one was the bomb for rubber tires, even on carpet and I am sure the MR additions will make it even stronger.

Also, for those interested, I may be able to make copies of the RE chassis in 3.5mm or 4.0mm carbon fiber to satisify the carpet crowd. Won't be TCS legal, but neither are foam tires and that is what the chassis if for. PM me if you might be interested. Probably looking at $75 a copy for 3.5mm and maybe slightly more for 4mm. I have to check with my supplier.

Erik

Does anybody know if the airscoop is already available?? I'd rather stick my ESC on the scoop instead of the holes in the chassis.... I'm also looking for a oneway diff for the MRE...... The regular MSX doesn't fit, neither with the TA05 pulleys....
Car is almost ready to race.. Can't wait, but on the other end it's almost a pitty to drive this piece of art.

Do regular 64dp spur gears fit the MSX?

I'm looking for a bigger one...

Moi

Tuossa uudessa MRE mallissa tulee mielestäni 102 hampainen 64dp spurri.

Olen käyttänyt Xenonin spurreja ja ollut niihin tyytyväinen.

How big are you looking at? I'm currently using a 106t spur on my MSX.

OK, so they do fit.

I will get a bigger one than this 102 that is included.

MRE also comes with 102t.

Yes they fit with all the new pulleys and topshaft...My front belt is at the notch and the rear belt is 2 clicks in FRONT of the notch..

The spacing is the same but the new black belt has alittle rounder profile to the nubs where as the white are more square...not much diff thoug...I will be running whites this Sat.

OK, well hopefully won't need the spares anyways ;-)

...one thing, I completely missed in the supplement where you have to "hog out" the steering bell cranks, but looking at it I don't see that they really touch the belt, maybe once the car is up and running at the track?? ...anyhow, is everyone else hoggin them out? ...I hate to take a dremel to such nice aluminum

well, from the comparison i did last night, the length is the same, but... the tooth count is different, due to a slightly closer pitch on the MR belt, and the tooth shape was different.

seems like the count was maybe 3 teeth off in front, 1 rear? dont remember the #s for sure, but i know they were marked on the belts...
