Evoracer's post is great... Every point they make about BL can apply to Brushed motors as well. Maybe we should all get rid of our motors and go back to the Pine Derby days of a block of wood and plastic wheels???

No, in unlimited mode, you get 5800 rpm's for every 1 volt.

(1.15x6) x 5800 = 40,020rpm
(1.17x6) x 5800 = 40,716rpm

Not a big difference. One tooth up would cover that I think.

Trinity has big pair to try and BS people like this. It's backfiring as far as I can tell but given the cost of BL and the fact that everybody is already invested in brushed means it could be awhile before BL makes the mainstream. At our track, mod class will allow BL. I think you'll see more when the new Novak pro BL system comes out. The SS is nice but a good 10t could beat it. But the factors of heat fade, battery peak levels and getting the correct tune every time could give the BL an edge in a best 3 out of 5 race. The brushed guy would have to hustle to get ready while the BL guy was goofing off.

Funny I just read through this thread not realising the date. I found Trinity's site, and an ad for Trinity brushless motors is on their front page. I have never used this quote before but here goes.. LOL

If so, would you mind some thoughs on your points from someone with a very large amount of experience with brushless systems to further educate and inform the userbase about them?

3 year old thread, and times have obviously changed radically since then.

Did Someone have a specific question in mind for me to answer?
