Default brushless questions

Hey all: I've got two questions about brushless i'd like to know. First at regional and national events should the stock class use brushed motors which are cheaper and would save racers money, brushless motors which are more expensive to buy,but last allot longer than brushed or allow both? Second in the past i've heard that shaft drive 4wd sedans are better for stock class and belt drive 4wd sedans are better for mod class racing so would this apply to brushless motors as well or not? Thanks for the info

In the long run, brushless will save you alot of money and setup time. No brush changes or any type of mainance.

Alot of people run belt driven cars. The overall beltdrive car is smoother. Although some people race with shaft driven cars still. You are going to get many different answers.

To tell you the truth, I run belt drive and brushed motors. Nimh batteries too.

the theory is that the shaft cars are more efficent so with older brushed motors and old nimh when power and mah were a concern the shaft cars would have an advantage

once nimh got up to 4000+ mah then the extra drag of a belt car as far as efficeny is concerened wasn't as big of deal since the belt cars were easier to drive so the efficeny wasn't as important

now that brushless and lipo have pretty much no power or battery drain issues compared to brushed and nimh 5 or so years ago the belt cars have taken over since the efficeny of the car isn't as important now
