Just guessing that the Evo III adaptor will fit... worst case is that you need to shim or remove a small portion to modify the part... I am not guaranteeing anything, but either or, it's worth a try...

superk: get the TB Evo gear set that comes with ball diff gear and get the TG10 ball differential kit. For part numbers, look up at tamiya.com on their gears, differential area on the R/C site.

Unhappy Race result last Saturday 3/15

I couldn't figure out why my receiver wasn't working  plus I ruined the body I was planning to mount on it plus I ruined one of my 20Rs ....In addition...I was running my first backup car (souped up TL01 sans the long arms) and some how...sometime before I got to the track (my car got stuck into the corner) a nitro car sideswipe me on the front right corner and whacked my front axle of with the wheel and the locknut. By the time I got down to move my car, it was already in the middle of the track with one wheel on the side of it. What makes me pissed of about it was that everyone just said "Oh, you're with that black car (It was an old Tamiya Evo 6 body painted black), huh?" and laughed. Luckily, I got my second backup car in my backseat (TA03R-TRF). I don't have much gearing on it (24T on 0.4 pitch). With the front knuckle broken (the second place car side swiped me when I was entering the corner...and the driver was a girl ), I qualified third...but then...it got rained out

Thanks rough512.
I am sure I'll find plenty of useful reading here. I sorted out my problems by the way, and took the car out for a quick test. I was reasonably Impressed with the cars first run, feels "solid".
It is a little heavy but min weight for stock is 1500g and I don't think its too much over that.

Getting that gear mesh is a little tricky though, and whats it with all the spare bevel gears..Does it chew them??
I fitted the carbon fibre shaft and thats all I've done so far. I fixed the sloppy rear outdrives by putting in those little red damper rebound sponges that I had spare from another kit. They work a treat.
Any how, will give it another test and some adjusting tomorrow and see if I can't squeeze every ounce of life out of this thing...

Later

Steevo ,what was the fix? Question.....Is your servo one of the newer, smaller digital's?? Did you compare the aluminum bellcranks to the plastic in regards to shape and height? Clue me in. Thanks

Hi Evoracer,
As you can see I have fixed the problem with the steering rod. what was happening is when I built the kit I added the TB EvoII Aluminium steering set but when I fitted it, the steering rod that went from the servo saver to the bell crank was fouling on the propeller shaft. I shimmed the ball on the bell crank side to raise it up so that it was the same height on both sides. It took 4 of those shims to do so
It now clears though and works fine but it just seemed so weird that it took so many shims for it to do so.
My servo is standard size nothing special and the servo saver is the white one that comes in the kit..
I tested the car tonight and it ran well for its first outing. I am looking forward to developing it further and running it in stock class.
Better go now, talk to you later

Just finished the fresh paint for my new Evo II.

The green is metallic, The paint mask is home made from "contact" and the paint is done with spray cans....

Not too shabby I think
