How many of you guys have problem with the front and rear outdrives being too inside to the gear box thus making the UJ to just nicely sit a little bit on the outdrives. Well, I have found a way to fix this problem.First remove those outdrives and then take some unwanted shock sleeve ( the one that fix onto the piston and has 1,2 or 3 holes ) that is either made of teflon or plastic. Then rim it, using a rimmer to about 4.96mm. And then fix this to the outdrives and you should have a very nice ride after that.I tried it and it works. You won't have to worry about losing another outdrive

hey ruf, i got the 414m rear 2 dot toe in blocks for the rear but they dont fit! did you do something to make them fit? looks like I'd have to cut off like 2mm from each side... :P

or did you buyem specifically for the evo2?

Nope they are for the 414M. Where are they hitting? If you run a lot of spacers underneath, you will have to shave the rear bulkheads to make it fit. I will post some pics tonight.

Here are some pics of the Evo2 I've been working on. I stripped out the electronics to try out my old car and get a baseline. You can see where I cut the rear bulkhead to make the 414M blocks fit with high roll center.




Here are pics of my custom TB01. I was able to go over 0.5s faster per lap with this tonight. Same motor, same electronics, same tires.



With my old car, the straightaway speed is blistering even with my mediocre packs. The punch has returned. One of my main complaints about the Evo2 is the lack of punch out of the corners. In order to cut a fast lap time I have to totally commit to the corner and try to carry stupid amounts of corner speed which usually ends up with me running wide on exit. Regardless, my old car still has more corner speed, and turns better with excellent forward drive. I really don't know what the heck is up with the Evo2 drivetrain. I've tried every trick I know and the thing feels almost as free as my TB01 but it just doesn't show it on the track. I'm not giving up on the car yet, but I'm pretty frustrated at this point.

I think i used the wrong word...block> what i meant was the plastic HUB, the one that holds the hex axle. its a 2 deg toe in HUB.


it dont fit in the arms. but is there a hingepin block that gives the car a 2deg toe in? if so... can i have the part number?

I will have to find the part number. You may just want to get the TB Evo2 specific ones that just came out like someone else mentioned. Comes with a swaybar set too. A little pricey though. You can use the 414M hubs. You have to shave 3mm off of the back of them. They are 18mm wide but the arms only have a 15mm slot.

you can find the cross spur gear adapter at www.rcmodel.com.hk just run a search for TB01 in the shopping section.

they also have the optional evo2 alum. steering and swaybars + rear toe in hubs.

I have tried to find a cross spur adapter on Rcmodel but I cant find it. Also does anyone know of a online hobby shop where I can buy some spare parts for an EVO II. I would like to get some extra hub carriers and so on. Any help would be greatful. Thanks Dave.

WOOOHOOOO!!! I think i finally got a setup that works for me!!

i did NO droop up front(just took out the set screw all the way)
and did 4 droop out back using my NTC3 gauge from the outmost hingepin. blue fronts/yella rear, 40front, 50rear, 1camber front/2 camber back, zero toe front and back....( i got it from this forum! thanks a million Retro Tamiya!!! )

results of sat.nights race... 1st qual. dnf(link popped off and lost a drive cup) hehehe 2nd qual. 1st place!!! EVER in electric!! Amain, 3rd!!! Im soo extatic!


but for some reason, now the car dont accelerate like it used to...maybe i should rebuild the motor...i was getting passed on the straight away :P
