Well yesturday was the first time out with my new Evolution 2 with foams on at my local track that I have ran at on and off for years. They do change the layout every few weeks so I can really see how many types of cars work.
I didn't have a chance to get a new Stratus so I just can my Tamiya Corvette body and ran regular stock at our track. I have ran many touring cars in the past 98, 99 , 00 and 01 Schumachers, HPI Pro 2, FSR bullet, Tao4 tricked out, Yokomo MR4 TC Pro, TB01 and now the Evolution 2. Well it was super fast and hooked up like I was on a slot car track. I couldn't believe that with the Vette body on it would work so good. I did just finish my Stratus so it should be even better.
Well I TQ'ed by almost 2 laps. It was as easy to drive as any car I have ever tried. Actually it was the best. I couldn't believe I was running a Tamiya that worked and went that fast. All the other stock guys that I have raced with over the years said that the EV02 was just insane with how smooth it was. I was running almost 5 tenths a lap faster than the closest guy.
The track was setup pretty hard with really tight lanes so it was a great test for the car. Worst thing is I have been running really old 2000 mah packs. I will be getting some of the high voltage packs really soon. I normally was always fast with the 2000's and on most normal weekly races I can just outdrive the guys but now I have a car that is super fast and will only get faster with some new cells.
I really can't understand why none of the fasctory Tamiya guys run this car. It had lots of adjustments and handles great. THe shaft drive is smooth and really is easy on batteries. I could use a little better outdrive setup but the little slop it has didn't bother the car at all. I'm still in disbelief at this time.

Then again, i still wonder why nobody complains about the TC3 ever shifting to the side during sharp accelerations......

someone on this thread (I think) earlier posted that the TC3 had something called "assymetrical suspension"
which counters the shift in weight.

I have been impressed my my EV2 as it don't have any of the leaning under acceleration like some. Maybe with a mod in it might do that but in stock it has not.

asswhat suspension?...what does that mean??

Btw, has anyone used the 72T spur before?...i cant seem fit a smaller pinion like a 28/29T.....theres a gap....

It means the suspension geometry isn't identical left to right.
I think basically there's a limiter on the steering throw to one side, so the torque steer doesn't give the feeling of a car that turns tighter in one direction than the other.

WYD, some of the Tamiya factory drivers are running the TBEVO2 in Japan, in the last year JMRCA, when Surikarn took a 5th place in the A main,a TRF driver called Hara(not the same Hara LOL) make a B main with a TBEVO2 prototype, and yep they used fiberglass to attach the battery, and they tested differend upper decks to try different chassis flexes!, you know guys Tamiya rules!!
I think that i have a picture somewhere, let me find it!

Trf_Spain that is cool to know. I think it is a really good car and has alot of potential like the 414M2 does. If Tamiya pushes both cars they will have two top touring cars. Imagine that they would have one or two of each in the A main at a big race. Wow that would really be cool.
If you have any pictures like you said that would be nice to see.

Does Tamiya show them on their website. I think I will have my local shop order those parts for me since I like this car alot I will keep working to make it better and better.
Tamiya is really stepping up for the racers in the last year to 2 years on making some really fast racing style cars. Nice to see they can dominate the industry anytime they choose to.

hi all, Just wonder do any of you know who makes spur/pinion for Evo II besides Tamiya. Tamiya's spur/Pinion is a bit hard to mesh. And it wears out fast.
thanks
thanks

Email him your order and pay with an International money order from the post office. Very reliable. I can't wait to test the new 1-ways. I hope it's lighter than the old.

Too bad he still don't run that car. Very nice picture of his ride. He changes rides so much it is hard to keep up with him as of late. Seems like every big race he has something else to run. I really like my EVO2 and is as good as any touring car I have owned.
