Thanks
Pretty much as Owen explained it. Or you can paint the case, either way works. Heatsink is anodized, but you can always easy off the blue one and make it silver
Im actually going to be selling the blacked out spx soon if anyone is interested.
Chop a normal connector up and make them work
How I did them
Heres my car as of now. As I said im swapping esc's soon, so I soldered up the motor pretty fast but people were asking me how I did it.. sldo the wire is to thick def need like 14, or TQ 13 wire. But it matches my car now, no more blue duo
The Randy Caster set up wheels are bad ass! If you dont have a set get some!
hope the pics are a good size?

Thanks guys. I did cheat a little. The antenna is hidden under the car, and I photoshopped the red out of the servo wires...
Here's more of my RC pics if anybody's interested: http://s125.photobucket.com/albums/p53/94eg/rc/
The trick is to cover all servo, receiver and ESC labels in carbon fiber look decals. You can also use black sharpie to cover up color in your receiver wires. And spend lots and lots of time trying to figure out how best to run wires down the center of the car. Bundle excess wires (even antenna) inside a pieces of heat shrink and squish them down between the electronics.

I just put it all in as a moc up like the way it is in BOR's picture. I can do it but my only issues are i had to move the gear mesh really close to the spur and none of my pinions are going to fit on there now and my servo wires are really long and i have no idea how to shorten them, can they be shortened?
#801

Kirby- I dont use any servo mounts. Chop them all off the servo, and shoe goo it on. On that car I had my speedo mounted so I could move the motor mount completely over that way with out hitting the speedo, then put in the rx, then the servo and gooed it there. So the servo was moved forward a few mm's. And also on the speedo i re routed all the internal wires out the back of the case so the rx could be flat against the speedo
EDIT, and yes you can shorten all the servo wires. I put black wire on all my electronics
I have a new car and new electronics. Pics will be soon, its going to be siiiiick

Never have I seen a clean wired VTA car. You may be barking up the wrong tree.

#805

You can put a little on the spur and pinions. They run super SUPER silent afterward. Does make a little mess though because the wax flings off onto the chassis over time.
It's also great for shaft driven cars as a lube for plastic running gears. Quiets everything down immensely.

I've been inspired by this thread, so I tried my hand at doing a clean install. I'm no where near some of the others on this thread, but I'm happy with the results. I still have a few more things I want to do.
I've looked everywhere to find purple strapping tape, but I can't find it in stock anywhere. If anyone knows where I can find some, then please let me know.

Some of the people on this thread have amazing picture quality. I tried, but couldn't even get close to the level of detail. Must have good cameras.
