Speaking of tidy wiring, I haven't seen a motor with nicer windings than the SMC Lowrider

Have spare time so I kind of rebuilt my M05. I just don't like the way I ran the motor wires.

Use an expandable cable wrap for cleaner look. They come in different sizes and colors too.

Like this:

I use them a lot for audio cables that I build myself. Put shrink tubes at each end.

Default Built vs Photo

Some excellent builds posted here.
Please note that a great looking car is often overlooked due to a mediocre photo.
Some basic rules are
1) Always direct the light away from the object, i.e. towards the nearest wall or surface if you are in the room.
2) If you are outdoors, take the photo in a shaded location
3) Keep the camera steady
4) If you use mobile phone (99% of the time) play around with its settings, you might find a manual setting providing a better result than the automatic settings

Fantastic shots! I really admire well taken photos like yours. The lighting, angles, effort, and plus the clean set up of the kit.

Bravo!

Thanks for the great tips!

One question: how do you do the "floating" side shot?

Your table and your background just need to be the same color. Or photoshop it
