The commander seems to be a very good charger.

A friend of mine has owned one for a long time now and has nothing but praise for it. its had alot of use and no problems. He sometimes uses it over his Novak Millenium.

Great charger.

this charger is AWSOME! its less a charger and more an absoloute management system, 0.1-9.9 A charge, 0-30 cells, variable peak, 0.1-20A discharge and you can set the cutoff votage to whatever, motor run in, vis charge, cycles function, seperate radio charger (charge your radio and car at the same time), you can program the sx9, optional temp probe and computer linkage !!!

and no problems here EVER.

plus a handy little feature if you ever have a power cut-out, for a short time it will rember the battery and the charge...

Alfa is correct, but he is referring to the newer version of the GM Vis Commander which is the 2000 ver. and the it seems as though the only place that has the computer link up cable is Europe. Other than that it is a very good charger and here in the States Horizon Hobbies has finally gotten properly trained on its repairs.

bjspinner- I've had one for awhile and got to say it is an excellent charger, I also have the thermal probe and it also works well (in climate controlled conditions) I also have the 2000 version! Go for it you'll never regret it. Good Luck

thanks guys info great. Alfa what is the VIS charge mode, is it a pulse mode to increase voltage. How does this system operate and are the results more beneficial to increase the packs voltage over a normal delta peak charge mode.

the Vis charge mode is designed for nicad batteries, it improves the punch of the batteries, but for nicad only, or at least it is for me mmmmm fried ni-mh

oh and how it works: it gives some +'ve charge then a quick burst of -'ve charge, i cant quite remember the reason for this though, maybee someone else can help you there.

Sounds like same principle as flex charging?
