Default POLL: driver stand positions

Just curious... this debate came up at the track today, and I was wondering what everyone thjought... two drivers were arguing over who should get the spot oon the driver stand if both want the same spot...

Should it go to the higher qualifier, or to the drive who got there first?

Who got there first. Who cares if your faster. Maybe they were slower because they couldn't see the sweeper because there was a pole there? Happened to me before.

At our title events, the drivers are meant to be called up onto the drivers stand in Qual order, so the positions are allocated in order.

At club races it goes to who gets their first, at major races where it is a little more serious it normally goes to the faster driver (only in the Main event), in qualifying its always up for grabbs to who got their first.

Who ever gets there first. Or you do what I do, stand next to where you want to be, and rip one, so everyone moves. Seriously though. I have no preference at my local track. I can see everything due to the CRC barriers.

In a bigger trophy race, the picking order in the main should go by the qualification order.

During qualification or club racing. First come claims the spot.

Where you stand will affect how your driving. Including having polls or other visual obstacles in the way could make your driving worse. I normally try to stand closest to the most technical section to be able to get the most view of how close I can clip the corners for more speed. Change your view to the other side of the drives stand and your POV may trick you into thinking the technical sections are have tighter lanes than they really do.

A well laid out track and proper drivers stand will really have no bad spots to stand giving everyone an equal chance to do well.

Our track has two poles that can hinder the view from the stand of more than one corner. We typically have two on road races in a day, both back to back. By the time you get off the stand to change cars, turn the 2nd one on and the 1st one off, scrub in everyone in the race before you gets on the stand. Would your first come first served still apply for club race qualifiers?

I'm all for the "whoever gets there first" idea. That forces everyone to be ready so they get the spot they want and thus moves the racing along quicker. However, at a national/big race I think it should go in Qualifying order since everything is run on a strict schedule anyways.

As for the two guys... Make them drive from their pit spots instead Bet they'll never argue about it after that

your qualified for the grid not for the spot, especially for local racing with tech table (like an regional or trophy race) whoever went through tech first get up to the drivers stand first to choose a spot.

nobody is going to wait for the TQ who teching late.
