TC5 gearing w/ 13.5 BL??????

Hi guys, I'll be getting a 13.5 BL system at christmas, and I was wondering what pinion/spur combo I should use. The track is 72' x 34'. What spur/pinion should I use for that track? Could I use the stock 87T spur?

One of my local tracks is 19 x 12m (about 62'x40') so pretty similar size. With a Novak 13.5SS, timing advanced to maximum, LRP Sphere on punch setting 8, I usually gear somewhere around 5.5-5.6.

With an 88 spur that means around a 31 pinion which I'm pretty sure won't fit in the motor mount. I tend to use 78 and 81 spurs, which means pinions in the 27-30 range which fit fine. (I think last week I used 81/29 to give 5.6.... but not 100% on that!)

Hope that helps

i used a 96 spur and a pinion in the upper 40's. im not sure because the stupid 64p robinson pinions dont have the numbers on them. hope i helped. the starting point for a 13.5 is like 4.5 fdr in a tc.

It'll be a Novak GTB/13.5SS combo, just straight out of the box. I'm thinking like a 83/29 or what? Thanks for the help so far guys!

I've ran 13.5 Speed Passion and now running a Trinity Duo/ Express Motor sports edition. I geared both of them to a 4.8 FDR.

I've been told a 78/31 or 78/33 works well, but that seems to me a bit big for my track size. LMK guys.
