Battery Voltage Increasing? FACT OR FICTION?
 

I see companies always claim how they are increasing voltage of their batteries by some special process........trinity has their VIS and other companies have their "whatever they wanna call it" process. Personally, I think its bunk.......does anyone actually KNOW what they supposedly do to make this happen? Any of the battery companies on here care to step up to the plate and spill the beans? Is it just a fancy name they use for dead shorting the cells before they match them?

The zapping process is done with a 47,000mF capacitor charged to 90V. Best results are achieved if the battery is cycled twice after treatment, then zapped again. Once in service, zapping will no longer improve the cell's performance. Neither does zapping regenerate a cell that has become weak.

ZAPPED cells have a lower internal resistance therefore retaining higher terminal voltage at moderate to high current loads. This provides significantly greater power and performance than ordinary cells. There is no loss of capacity or useable life.

"Killer" volts
 

Most companies cycle their cells many times to break them in and get the voltage out of them....shortens the life.....you want to buy cells from a matcher that only cycles about 4-5 times. SMC cells always have awesome voltage.......but I dont like them cause they dont keep their performance very long due to being abused.
Zapping is also a way they get good cells.....they keep hammering a cell till it srarts to perform better then they slap a label on it.....this Breaks the cell down and shortens its life span.

One or 2 times on the zapper is ok.....

I use B&T cells.....he zaps once or twice and cycles 4 times, then they get labeled no matter what. I have rematched his cells a month later and they are even better than new!!

It isn't bunk. Depending on the conditions that cells are exposed to in terms of charge/discharge currents, zapping, etc, they can actually be trained. Try it yourself. Ask one of the matchers to sell you some virgin cells, and one thru a single cycle on a TurboMatcher or Turbo30. Then do the same with a cell that's been run thru one of the matcher's processes. There will be a difference.
