My top 10 09' wish list;

1. My driving to improve!!!!

2. Less expensive parts for XRAY cars.

3. Cheaper good quality rubber tires.

4. More people racing.

5. Lipo friendly TC's so no mods are required aside from Losi and TM.

6. I like the TV thing that would be cool.

7. Lipo and rubber tires for all electric scales.

8. Hot groupies that go for short fat balding guy's

9. Improved economy.

10. Large racing events that award prize money. This could help excel this hobby to the next level.

A more efficient asphalt tire (i don't care if its rubber, foam, celebrity fat that's been lipo-suctioned off, plastic, just as long as it works).

Sure, you can run rubber tires all kinds on carpet, but on asphalt, if your setup is wrong you could cook a set in one run!!
They get wilted, dust accumulates, temp is a b!tch, the list goes on and on...

And as bkspeedo said, cheaper rubber tires.

Id like to see:
-front mounted motors front wheel drive 1/10 scale car kits.
-front mounted motors all wheel drive 1/10 scale car kits.
-universal Tx steering wheel with LCD for time, lap timer, temps, alarms etc
-on board RC camera (which could be viewed later in a PC)
-more reliable, compact, cheaper brushless systems
-KERS and boost systems in ESCs (brushless)
-twin 380 size brushless motors mounted on a touring car
-adjustable, smooth and lightweight gear diffs for EP touring cars
-floating engine mount and drivetrain
-new design of the M-chassis
-IFS equipped racer to compete for the Worlds
-sealed belt drivetrains
-for Tamiya to make a sport brushless system included to their kits

I'd like to see 4wd 1/8 scale F1's being the premier ep onroad class (so ep finally has a class that stands up the top ic class) and less people staying in stock and growing a pair and stepping up to mod.

Transmitter - Nomadio, or spektrum telemetry kit.

RC Camera - There are several out there. Check out rcboyz on ebay. They used to have one that fed off 2.4ghz signal. Me personally, I used my cell phone in an old body with a cutout for it.

Brushless System - Novak is releasing a $150 Brushless system that will work fairly well for SS and Stock. For Mod, Castle Creations makes several cheaper brushless systems

HA! 90% of the tracks in SoCal have no on-site store. So that means LHS are either Heli experts (Hobby House) or Airplane guys (Hobby People Encino or Smith Brothers) and there's no track in SFV and I really don't count Flames BBQ...

Aside from Flames, I have to drive 45 miles to Tamiya's home track, Ultimate Hobbies is in the area however but I don't live down there. Road Runners main shop would be Hobby People and its closer and no doubt I would buy from there when In the area.

I buy other stuff online, what difference does it make if I buy R/C stuff online????

If I want something NOW, I don't mind paying the 25% "Convenience" fee, that's what I call buying from Brick & Mortar stores which on average is 25% higher than the lowest online price.

For example -

I bought a Duratrax Intellispeed 16T ESC at my LHS for $64

Same unit goes for $49+$9 shipping, I lost $10 to a LHS that has to order any Tamiya R/C parts. I paid about the same price for my Airtronics Blazer radio locally as it is online, but would have saved by not getting charged tax and I could have gotten all this from Tower with a code to get a $15 discount which would have knocked out the price of shipping and handling ($9.99).

Point is the advantages to buying online for those of us that are PC savvy override buying locally unless you need to have it NOW. Brick & Mortars know their place in the shopping "Pecking" order.

Also buying online most of time means buying from a B&M only not in your home town!

1) Good Luck Next Season!

2) As long as the Euro has a higher exchange vs the dollar, that's wishful thinking

3) HPI's are expensive??

4) Simplify, Reduce Cost, Less Negative Vibe, More Exposure = More People

5) Most Tub cars can handle Lipos

6) TV would be helpful, got any ideas of where to put it?

7) By 2010 that should be the norm

8) Go to Brazil...

9) Hopefully by end of 2009 (Yes We Can!)

I don't think speed channel is the right venue though (I have a mindless job so I think of stuff like this all day long). The right venue for rc would be a reality show at one of the bigger tracks. A lot of people don't care much about the racing. They want to see the emotional swing of people. That's why ice road truckers is popular. But you are correct. This hobby/sport/lifestyle does need a show.
Actually Cable/Sat is perfect for niche programing or haven't you noticed??? lol

Chris' show on DIY was cool, I missed it most of the time however. When I turned it on, he always had some Heli or Airplane segment on, I don't knock it, first R/C ever was a Cox R/C (Not line control!) Cessna trainer. He covered the hobby, not racing however.

R/C Racing TV is just what it says it is, it covers RACING! Motors TV is Europe's version of Speed TV without the dominating NASCAR coverage... They do show Cup and Truck on there though. In fact Motors TV is pretty much what Speedvision (RIP) was when they dropped the Space Shuttle Launch and Landing Coverage....

Current episode has coverage of 1/10 World GT carpet from Las Vegas and HPI Baja 1/5 Endro Cup -

http://vimeo.com/2368627?pg=embed&sec=2368627

No reason why it couldn't be done here.... I mean people watch Grand Am Racing......

Dj, good ideas. Good luck though. Just remember even the pros, minus a couple, are nobodys in the real world, chicks think rc racers are dorks, and there is just not enough of us.

It's inevitable that 1:12 is moving towards LiPO like it's 1:10 Touring counterpart. I'd like to see what 1:12 t-bar chassis design's evolve into with the introduction of the 3.7v Single Cell LiPO? Or do LiPO's evolve to accommodate current t-bar chassis designs?
