I would try asking that on the Type R thread. It's one of the more talked about topics with the car. If I could get my hands on a 5200 40C in Austalia I'd would have tried myself.

What's with these packs being pushed back to Mid-Late May? It's as if they are a new product coming out for the first time, but they aren't. What's going on?

We do get shipments in of our 5200/40C packs but since these packs are very popular we don't get enough to fill out all the backorders. Our supplier is expanding to keep up with the high demand of all our Lipos. Supply should get better in the coming weeks.

These are the EFRA 40C packs that have been available in the USA for a while. You can get them at stormer and nexus in the USA:

Thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these as well. Any opinions?

I say go for it. I bet even Reinhard couldn't tell the difference apart from the numbers. Maybe if you run a 1/4 turn motor ;-)

These batteries are well worth the $$, I got them under $100 ea. and can feel a definate difference to the SMC 5000 28c. Runtime I believe is close to 5100mah, so not much difference to the race spec 5200.
