Im intrested in an SMC Lipo I heard many good things about them on the rcu forums. Not sure if this has been mentioned but would the c-max 40c 5200 be a noticable improvement over the 24c 5200 lightning volt in a vxl rustler? Im also looking at the new 6000 28c. Looking to order one today.

Edit: I also seen you charged at 2c is that fine to do every time? I see on another 1 of my lipos that it says 2c is the fast charge and 1c is the standard maintenance charge so I only been charging on 1c.

Thanks,
John

Default smc

I have the smc battery you’re talking about and its great. From what I understand the C rating or punch some people call doesn’t matter that much. But the jury is still out on that theory on whether it make a difference or not. I guess higher is better just in case it does matter.

I was thinking of an e-revo later on possibly so the 40c might be nice. The 6000 28c also looks very interesting if it fits in the rustler battery tray nice.

If your using a powerful motor then the 40C should have more power as it will react better to the higher load as the voltage will drop less under load due to the lower IR.

The 6000/28C is a great pack for the price.

Thanks Danny im just using the stock 10-Turn, 3500kV vxl brushless motor currently. Hard to decide betwen the 6000 and the c-max that is a good price on the 6000.

I would go with the 6000 as I'm sure you will be very happy with it. The case is the same as our 5200/40C pack which fits in my Losi XXX-CR so it should be fine in the Rustler battery channel.

Thank you for the fast reply, I got it thinking it was going to be wicked faster than the 5000 28c I already have. I am baffle my racing buddy have the 5000
28c and we where on the same pace and speed he got some other brand which I will not mention 5000 40c and he would blow by me as if I was standing we both ran 13.5 same car but with the new pack he has he is much faster, that is the reason I got the 5200 40c thinking I would be just as fast, oh well I have more run time.

Just to let you guys know I ran a 24c 5200 pak at the Roar carpet nationals and I TQ'ed and won with that pak in the 13.5 foam class its a great pak for 13.5 17.5 racing like Danny is saying...The way brushless motors and speedo's are these days you really need to mess with the gearing you want your motor to 160 to 170 thats how hot mine was....Later Drew

We sent them in for approval with our 4700/40C and 5000/28C EFRA size packs and the 4500/28C pack in our thin case. I believe the list will be out by May 1st.
