Thank you! Is it possible to modify an existing one?

Alrighty, I pulled the trigger and bought a chassis upgrade that comes with the motor mount I needed. Now I'm looking into brushless systems. I see there are several Kv options. I know very little about micro racing, and I'm trying to figure out what motor I need. Here's a vid of our track. I know the 180 is FAR from enough. We plan to run cheap 370s for now, but I'm sure we'll eventually go BL. What would you suggest for a track this size?

I like my Castle system in my 8ight E; its been nothing but fun. So I figure one of their micro systems might be nice. I'm just really not sure how hot of a motor I'll need. I plan to stay 2S, if that makes a difference.

The castle micro systems are definitely the shizzy It can be as smooth or as aggressive as you want.

I would say go with the 6800, thats what I prefer. A track that size on carpet, an 8000 may work, but for asphalt the 6800 should be better (smoother). The 20mm can size is plenty for M18s on 2S.

Cool, thank you! I figure something hot like that on 2S should be fun on rubber tires. The surface seems to eat foams, tears chunks out of the sidewalls. Maybe I'll try sealing a new set with CA and give them another shot. The vid is on rubber, but with the stock motor.

There's actually several locals that have them, so hopefully I'll be able to post some vids of more M18 action.

2S should be more than enough on rubber, it is on foam The surface probably isnt smooth enough for foam, bumpy tracks kill foam tires. Hope you can get a local class going, they are a blast with a ton of people

This was our stock class at its hayday (5 cell, 300 motors)

WOW, great race! Love to see so many M18s in action. I've seen a couple other vids from that track, great looking place! One of the locals had a big enough basement to build a pretty cool track. These are just some of the locals that have them. I hope to get them all out to the big outdoor track:

Wow, thats like a mini-z track Hope you guys can get something going. Unfortunately for us, that track closed down after the 08-09 season, and nothing new has sprung up in the area for mini racers

Yeah, seems to be the order of the day. I figure with the growth of the VTA and GT classes, that maybe some of the interest would spread to the smaller cars. They require less space, are cheaper, and you can still get parts for them.

And as you guys will find out M18s are tanks, especially running stock. Only parts you would want on hand are knuckles, front bumpers, and body posts in case someone gets squish-squished

Yup, I've actually only broken one thing over the years. I broke the front off the plastic chassis, from running into those hard PVC borders a few too many times. I figure the carbon fiber upgrade I bought should hold up a little better.

We have a practice session this weekend, so I should have some more vids up soon. Thanks again for the info!

Thanks for posting that vid- I really miss micro racing, it dried up last year here in Indy. On the plus side, we have a bigger turnout with more classes. I still miss it, though.

Well, I've heard that story more than a few times. Cool thing is, several people have them. I was surprised at how many new folks suddenly started watching our local forum when we mentioned on road racing and M18s. This Saturday should be a good indicator of interest.

Hey, does anyone know where to get a 18th scale Lola body like this one:

http://www.rceasy.com/2008/04/23/cs-...118-lola-body/

I tried that site, but there's no "buy" option, or even a way to contact the site.
