right now I dont have much time to make extras to sell. Besides, I just used a dremel and the construction isn't super clean to try and sell them off. I don't want to dissapoint people with a home made job. I bought a Drill press for the dremel and a tap and drill set from Sears for 4-40 screws.... It's not too hard...maybe next week I could make another. Just would need some money for shipping. I'm sending one to UnitedRC... he might take the blank to some friends who can CNC them and sell them....the footprint is small, so you would need a stiffer chassis to mount it w/o having probs w torsion of the motor under power.

email me [email protected], I'll se if I can build one more next week. But definitely wont be mass prod them....I'll leave that to the people w/ the resources to do it.

Penguin RC will be coming out with their own version of c/f chassis saddle pack battery location & upper brace. AVM is making the motormount. As well as GTP bodies from ARM, RADMicro & PTI Racing.
jeepnyy,

Yes, I will definitely look into it. I heard of PTI Racing, but not the two other companies you mentioned, would you happened to have a website for them? we also have all the x-ray hop-ups on pre-order already so as soon as they are available, we should have them.

Cool

Here are the links to :

RADMicro http://www.home.earthlink.net/~jmendoza3/?

ARM www.americanracingmodels.com

I only use GTP/GT1 bodies on my Motek EXO2 & Xray M18. They give good downforce & better handling . Please let me know when you start to carry after market c/f chassis for M18.

Do they have a price for the whole setup yet?

the cells in the red shrink don't look to be 2/3A cells. I can't for the life of me figure out how they can squeeze 6 KAN cells inline like that. The motor mount just doesn't let you move the cells any further back.

Raydee- when is the Team Hammer chassis going to be ready. If it's available sooner than the IPD chassis I may be interested. Yes I have an M18 now. I should be there on March 21st for the season ending race!!!

there is an easy way to squeeze 6 KAN 1050 cells in like that, let a pro build your pack!

To see how the pack looks on the inside, here's a picture of my M18 with a 6 cell CBP 1050 pack (the red cells in the IPD photo).

I actually confirmed with IPD that the chassis in question accepts 2/3 AA cells and not the more common 2/3 A Kan cells. Not sure what the capacity is of the smaller 2/3 AA cells are but I assume it to be lower.

Do you guys have any run time issues with the 2/3 A cells with a Speed 300 motor? I'm just getting back into Micros and wondered what my options were instead of the 2/3 A Kan cells as it looks like IPD are suggesting the use of the smaller AA cells in some circumstances.

I may just end up getting the other chassi they are now offering that has 3 cells on each side of the chassis and the servo on the opposite side of the stock mount. It looks very clean and well balanced.

Bob, I am really surprised that IPD decided not to make their chassis with the Kan or CBP 2/3a cells in mind. I really don't see why they did that. Their chassis looks great and the price is nice too but 2/3a is the common micro cell for the Xray and I think that will hurt sales.

I am sticking with the Hammer chassis, he designed it to be run with the Big Block motor and the Kan 2/3a cells. He did a great job on it and everything fits like a glove. It may cost a bit more than the other chassis' but I feel you get what you pay for in RC.

Ray

Actually IPD is offering three different chassis sets and only one of those accepts the less common 2/3 AA cells.

The other two chassis sets accept the more common 2/3 A cells. I think I'm going to order the chassis with 3 slots on each side. That will mean I will have to reposition my servo but it should work the same. The guy from IPD replied to my e-mail about that chassis and said that to run it the receiver must be mounted on the servo.

To Ray or anyone else out there - have you heard of any problems with the Hitec 85MG servo and KO radios. I finally installed everything tonight and my servo won't center properly every once in a while. I am using my brand new Mars R with KR-301F receiver.

thanks

Bob

I have no problem with my HS85mg centering at all, but I am using the Futaba 3PK radio. I am not sure if it should make a differnece though unless you are using the KO receiver that is made to run with Digital servo's? I know Futaba sells the HRS receiver and you can't use regular servo's with it. I did have centering issues with my HS81mg and when i emailed Hitec they told me that the 81 should not be used in a car application and it was designed to be used in mini or micro aircraft. You could just have a bad servo.

Havy are you also using a KO radio?
