VFS-1 BMC Modified Version #40052 and new BMC 2010 Manager software.

http://www.kopropo.com/america/index...155&Itemid=187

BMC 2010 Software VFS-1 BMC 2010 Manager (NEW)
http://www.kopropo.com/america/index...d=21&Itemid=59
The BMC 2010 Manager optimizes the voltage cut off settings for 1S Lipo and 2S LiFE. The included improvements in voltage cut off settings are three 1S Lipo (2.9V, 3.0V, 3.1V) and two 2S (5.0V, 6.0V) settings. The ESC timing now goes up to 12. Software functionality is similar to the previous versions and can also be used with ROAR Spec versions of the BMC for no timing settings. The Modified Version of the BMC should use this software to maximize it's potential.

my question,
can BMC v1.5 use the new 2010 software and set the timing to 12?

Krat,

Thank you again for posting the info, I believe you can utilize the new software although I will check with Robert to confirm!!!

Please note if you are able to use the latest 2010 BMC Software, be very careful using the higher timing settings.

you could potentially cause the ESC and or the Motor to overheat.

Thanks Again !!!!

I also notice that you are supplying a capacitor with the new modified version. What are the specs for this and can we use it with stock motors. I am assuming that it is similar to what Tekin is using, but just wanted to be sure before I added one to my setup.

BMC 2010 can be used with ROAR Spec and v1.5 ESC just as the older software could be used. The higher timing will increase heat so you will have to keep a close eye on the temps as Alex has stated.

The caps are larger then the Tekin's and are 1800uF 16V in parallel. In testing with the stock no timing class, the temps will come down and punch of the esc moves more towards mid throttle from the bottom end. These caps will be available starting tomorrow.

Under the new 2010 software with the 12 point timing, does 6 in the new settings equal the max 6 in the old software ?

It's 6 more clicks of timing.

just curious what the value in degrees is. I tried it last night. I always forget how good this is compared to every other speed control out there. It is like putting a brushed motor back in the car.

I found that with the timing on 12 I had to retard the physical motor timing in order to keep the temps down. I also dropped a bunch of teeth. All in all I could be just as fast around the track as could with a tekin. This is not in TC though this is with a Buggy inside on foams with jumps. The car is so much easier to drive its not even funny. Now if we could get just a little more rip out of it I would put it back in my TC.

Two items:

1) Robert--the new capacitor would be perceived, then, as an advantageous addition for "spec-mode" (zero timing advance) 1/12. Running 1s LiPo if that makes any difference. If I order a couple up tomorrow via Shopatron would they ship out Priority or First Class? Traveling to a race next week and will be running my BMC(s) in 1/12 "blinky" mode for the first time.

2) DOES ANYBODY HAVE A SAMPLE PROFILE THEY FEEL IS OPTIMIZED FOR 1/12 SPEC STOCK ON 1s?

Many thanks,

Scottrik

NO it works with 2s lipo. I just notice it gets the motor really hot. Not as efficient as the others ESC with timing.

Hey guys my Ko is getting hot!

I cannot hook a motor to it without it getting really hot (to hot to touch)

The power is amazing now, but within minutes its to hot to run

I have a 13.5 geared for punch and both motor and speedo are getting to hot to quick.

Did I break my speedo?!?!?! Does the speedo know when to cut off it it gets to hot?!?!

What timing settings are you using? I would recommend getting a heat sink and a fan on the ESC. If you are going to run timing on 12 I would take and put your motor endbell to the lowest possible setting. Then gear it to what works best for your track. Temp every couple of minutes to see how hot it is getting. If you can't get the temps in a good range. Start reducing the ESC timing by 1 until your temps are good.

Thanks for the advice.

I think the speedo is having more issue's

I just tried to see if it was going to work, well as soon as I turned it on and pulled the trigger it got hot FAST. within 20sec it was to hot to touch!!!

DO you think its broken? It operates fine, has alot of power, but heats up instantly!!!!

Yeah sounds like something is wrong. I would hook it up to the BMC software and see what you have timing set at. Then I would put it to zero and see if it still gets instantly hot. Remember too that the aluminum top is actually attached to the fets in the ESC so they do get hot while running. But it shouldn't be more than you can stand to touch.
