I think they who have cluttered this thread and use Tekin (and me as well) are actually KO fanboys and hoping that KO will come up with good news about this speedo.. please correct me if I am wrong.

might be interesting to see how the Ko does in "Spec" class. since this class will not have any timing advance, the drive frequency adjustments may just give KO an advantage in the "spec" class.

Well i tried the v1.5 and its hell of alot slower than the tekins. Infield it was ok but on the straight i had no change at all... The straight was around 30-40 metres, and i lost around 5 metres each lap.

I had geared 4.0 with full timing, where the tekin guys where running around 6.5...

No chance at all considering moving to modified after this disaster.

yes, but the "spec" class will no longer allow any timing in the speedo. so it should work to the KO BMC's advantage. because you still have drive freq adjustments

When I was just running indoors this winter, we had a buggy class where most where running GTB's or Havoc controllers, where I was running the BMC, even with no timing I was beating everyone. Mostly because of the frequency adjustments gave me a serious middle so that I could actually drive around the corners rather than point and shoot, like the others. So if this is any indication I would think that with the new spec rules of no timing advance in controller, that they will fair just fine. It will also give the other older controllers a chance to be put to use, like the GTB's, Havoc's, and VXL's.

For on-road I have switched to the mamba pro. I have a tekin but I don't care for it in on road. Off road it rocks and I can get it to feel pretty good, but in on road it is just too hard to drive. The mamba isn't much easier, but does have a better feel to it even with the huge power rush.

I am curious why KO decided against user side upgrade of firmware. All the other programable controllers can do this, why is KO holding out. I don't even mind paying for the update, but sending my controller in just so they can flash the firmware seems a little silly to me.

Guys, just adding "boost", "delay", "rpm engagement", etc is a lot more detailed them most would think. Getting it right takes time, it's not something that can be done overnight.

KO Japan has lots of other projects that they have been working on before the new advanced timing came up that must be completed. As they do work on making our current system better, the engineers have a lot on their plate. These things take time. The ROAR spec was a quick and easy feature to add into the ESC and that is why it came to market so quickly.

The most I can say is that we are sorry that we haven't brought the advanced timing feature to market as quickly as you (or myself) would have like to have seen it.

Well, i personally thank you for the response. Even if it isnt what we think we want to hear, at least it IS something.

We have a tendency to make the worst out of a situation, with no alternative input. Hopefully, the engineers can hustle up... and provide us with an improved version of what we already have.

Thanks again...

When i was running the BMC I was running is a more "stock" class, we did not allow the 203 in that class and the KO in my opinion was tops over V 200. I also think it will be pretty dominate in the Stock class racing.

that is good to know. since v200 is not legal for "spec" if I understand correctly, no timing advance in the speedo at all. so only on the motor. similar to a novak gtb

Ok that is fine, but I really want to know about the decision to limit the flashing of firmware to a hands on only operation. I understand the concerns, but for most the inconvenience of sending something away to have and "update" is a little much. Like I said before on here if you want us to pay to get it that is fine, but just let me install it myself. If there are others that would rather send in the controller you could have this option too. But when 5 out of 6 or 7 Speed control makers are allowing this there is a pretty good precedent set. I am not saying that there would not be risk, but I think it is out weighted by most users ability.
