So what's the profile set up everyone is running these days in 17.5 class?
I've got the "Drew Ellis" profile in mine ATM
is this still "the profile"??
Or is there a newer better weapon too run?
Cheers

That profile might be a little too punchy for 1/12th, you may have to lower the freq avg.

Well tested Melvin's "The one" tonight and thought it was pretty fast. It will def. keep up now. After I figured out my gearing I started to play with the motor timing. I realized that I had it way down so I took it all the way up and started backing down through the night. I wish there were actual deg. markings on this can (novak 17.5) so I could tell the degress. I had it just a little off of the full timing mark and it picked up alot of speed.I then started playing with the torque curve and if feels almost perfect. It has tons of rip off the corners and The motor never got to hot at a 4.21 on a 75x45 carpet track. I think this will be the profile I will stick with.

If you dont mind me asking, how did it run against the Tekins?
And where might I find this profile?

I sure will....this is the fastes profile I have run. I have tested all of the others with a novak 17.5 all the timing adjustments I can possibly think of.

This ESC really is a bad ass.It is incredibly smooth. Last weekend on the 09 Nats profile I passed Tekin 2.0's on the straight and threw the sweeper to the first corner I can't wait to race this new profile this weekend.

I will be working on a profile myself later on this week. I will post the results when I am finished.

Here is what you asked for (I HOPE IM NOT STEPPING ON TOES)

FYI, Melvins profile is the 5th one. About the only way we have been able to get to askers is if the pm there e-mail address. I can't figure out how to post the thing here the right way.

Skiny, I knew you would like that profile just needs a little tweaking for personal feel for what ever track you run.

I tried the "one" profile last weekend and it certainly felt the fastest among the other ones I tried. I tried to use timing 5 and 6, but all it did was heat up my motor and lap times didn't change. Still confused about how the timing system works on this speedo.

As far as the RS goes, I still can't beat them on top end. But I still like this speedo for it's smoothness and rip in the infield. In those departments, it is better than the RS.

It was suggested to drop the timing to 4 and drop 3 teeth with max timing on a Duo2 motor, give that a try, should help your heat issue. In some cases with this speedo timing 6 is way too much timing, you could try a couple of different things. You could leave your motor where it is and drop sc timing and then re-gear, OR keep the sc timing up and retard the motor timing and re-gear. Somewhere in there you'll hit the sweet spot. This wasn't such an issue if your motor has fixed timing, then your only playing with one variable.
