you need to also adjust the brake frequency. if I remember the lower the freq the hard the brake feel. then you can play with the autobrake. the higher the value the harder the brake brake feel. in 17.5 I am running almost no autobrake.

theisgroup - thanks for the response. I'll keep adjusting the frequency until I get something.

Guys I need some help here,

I'm running KO BMB 1.0 + Orion 6.5t (retard timing) using profiles #1 & #2 from Reedy Race of Champions 2009 Modified Settings; (timing: 2, brake adjusted to 2.44khz) and the problem is that my lipo swells by 1mm (4000mah x 35c, 5000mah x 35c).

What should I change? timing back to 0 or brake freq too high? Btw, my brake epa on radio is set ard 65-75%.

And I must say that my car was really fast, it's just that most my lipos swell.

Please help. Thanks

have you changed the cut-off voltage mode to lipo? it seems your lipo was pushed below the minimum voltage.

It's set to Lipo and I don't run more than 7mins during practice. Our race is only 5 mins duration. So I don't think it's the cut-off issue here... Thou the lipo swells, the punch is there. But I hope it will not happen to the new lipos I'm planning to get.

now i'm afraid that will happen to me also. my BMC hasn't arrived yet, but i'll use 3.5T motor.
at our local track, many people run the Vortex version with 3.5T motor, they use standard profile (#2 i think) and nothing happen to their lipo.
so maybe the timing is too high.

I think the ESC if fine as long as we understand what the settings are meant for. Can't simply fiddle it now.... Wondering whether the timing or brake freq adjustment were the cause for the lipos to swell. Will be testing it over the weekend.

From what it sounds like you have a bad battery. I have never seen a lipo swell, and mine barely ever get hot. Has the pack taken a major impact?
Someone correct me if im wrong, but the speddo settings probably wouldnt hurt the battery, I would think something would go wrong with the motor before the battery.

I just picked up the 1.5V BMC. I want to know when should I use the heatsink? 10.5 or higher? Or should I just install the heatsink wo/fan until it temps higher than 100 degrees F.

It's Orca (HongKong) and Power Track. A friend of mine is using same Lipo (Orca) + LRP X11 6.5t + LRP TC Spec. He doesn't have this problem.

Btw, the swell is not alot, 1-2 mm in the centre when it was supposed to be flat.

The motor perhaps?

It may not be that bad, but its not supposed to swell at all. I would go through the car top to bottom and check everything, bearings , belts, gears, motor and make sure that nothing is bound up and causing excessive ampdraw on the battery. It is possible that you got a defective pack, that happens from time to time. Or the pack got damaged unbeknownst to you. I run the Orion Lipos and have not had a single issue with them. Is this a hardcase lipo?
